Rachel you poor thing, what a lot to go through, I hope you manage to get some rest. Thinking of you and sending (((hugs)))
Miss P - hope you survive the funeral (((hugs)))
Well done everyone who managed to get through last night - I would have fallen back into my drinking pit without this thread - thankyou.
Have just joined the smoking thread....in the hope.... maybe, just maybe I'll be able to get rid of that one too.
Hope you all have a good day0 -
Have just got in from the hospital where they have finally admitted mum. She's very weak and dehydrated and has some sort of infection. At least she's in the right place now and hopefully they'll be able to sort her out. It's been a very long day, having tried to get her in there since Weds morning. Absolutely knackered now, but my mind is still racing so can't sleep yet. Need to though, as I have to be at work and do the school run in a couple of hours. Anyway 1 more AF day here making 9 please Shaggy. Night all x
Hope today is a better day.
Lots of Hugs.Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life!

Hi Bretts - do you want to join the February challenge?
Hi all,
Failed last night after I met a mate at the pub - ended up having 5 pints and had my first cigarette since before Christmas too.
Anyone got any tips for how to deal with seeing mates who you have a drink based relationship with?
Thing is, that he's a good mate so I want to still meet up with him and he doesn't put pressure on me to drink, it's just that I feel he'll have a worse night if I'm not drinking with him. Did actually go to the cinema with him once but that was very weird - didn't really work.
Yeah, put me down for Feb challenge please.0 -
Bearacus- last night you posted the SNC list with 2 smiley faces next to it. Did that include last nights AF? I am losing count of what days i didnt drink so just wondering!0

25 days AF please Shaggy.
Well I desperately wanted a drink tonight....I don't know why, it's that tricky time of year when everything seems like doom and gloom. I've worked extra hours this week and am soooo tired, cannot think of anything nice to do / eat / buy ....one of those. I feel like I want to put everything on hold and disappear off into the sunset with my backpack and flip flops and discover the world.....
And then reality kicks back in and I remember that there are 6 children who probably wouldn't be too happy about their mother finding a life :rotfl: hey ho
onwards and upwards.....spring will be along soon
ps I'm also looking forward to a small jumpy man appearing by my name tomorrow:j and there was absolutely no way I was going to jeopardize that one
have a lovely evening
I've been thinking about this comment since I first read it. I realise it was said tongue in cheek, but I often have a simliar dilemma. Are the choices I make as regards to the way I live my life conducive my son. Within reason I am trying to realise that this is MY life. Of course I have a responsibility to him as a mum, but he has his own life and I hope he lives as HE wishes, not as I want him to live or his children want him to live.
For me, being a drunk mother was selfish. I looked out for myself over and above what he wanted and needed. There are a million ways to live a life and as long as my son understands that it is the way that makes me happy, therefore I am a happy mum, he can learn a valuable lesson to not be a prisoner to a life that is not enjoyable to him when he gets his chance to make his own life........
As always what I say here is for me, if others want to take it on feel free, but I'm not telling anyone else what is right for them. Just thoughts to ponder.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Rachel, Miss P and all those having a rough old time. My thoughts are with you. Be kind to yourselves.
Brett - What do you want to do? Cut down or give up? Will make a difference how you deal with drinking friends.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
