Hey guys.
Can i ask how you deal with being totally miserable, without drinking? It sounds like a stupid question probably, but i am so miserable day, have an awful day, totally overwhelmed by everything. And my first thought is that i want to drink to forget
cleggie – (((hugs))) I really feel for you, I know that feeling so well
I have a set of rules very similar to missrlr’s memory aides (great post by the way) - they are not up for negotiation and sheer stubbornness means that I won’t break the rules. I tend do a bit of what 365days says and reflect on what’s making me feel like I need to hit the vino – I don’t always find an answer and if I’m honest my mood is rarely lifted at the time (if anything I can get more agitated and snappy) but I do achieve an element of logical control that seems to be stronger than the emotional dependency of the bottle if that makes sense!
Distraction also helps and for me it comes in the shape of a bar of chocolate
I was doing just fine at this before Christmas however January has been a real struggle - but I know that I can do it…and so can you. Set yourself achievable goals, take it one day at a time….and be kind to yourself, in RL this is likely to be a very private and lonely journey …be proud of every victory along the way, you will have worked hard to achieve it xx
….and now I’m off to sip on a glass of sugar free Ginger Beer….oh the glamour of it!!LBM Aug '07 Debt [STRIKE]£52,615[/STRIKE] DEBT FREE Aug '12 :jCap One CC £[STRIKE]5000[/STRIKE]/£0 - HSBC CC £[STRIKE]7500[/STRIKE]/£0 - HSBC Loan £[STRIKE]12,225[/STRIKE]/£0M&S CC £[STRIKE]11,500[/STRIKE]/£0 - Egg CC £[STRIKE]8750[/STRIKE]/£0 - Sains CC £[STRIKE]3000[/STRIKE]/£0HMRC £[STRIKE]3140[/STRIKE]/£0 - OD £[STRIKE]1500[/STRIKE]/£0Pay off ALL your debt by Xmas 2012 £14,128/£14,128 :j0 -
