    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi Everyone,

Wow, it's taken me ages to catch up, what a lot of lovely positive posts :)

Rachael and Miss P Glad that both of your mum's are a bit better at the moment.

Gardenanna Sending big hugs and positive vibes to you, it sounds like you have really been through the mill with your DIL of late.

Crazymum Just look at you! You are doing so well, you should be really proud of yourself.

Shar-rona Baby steps my dear, just take each day at a time and keep posting.

Well as for me I went to see a friend on Friday and I too borrowed the communal 'stop button' and had 1 small glass of wine before moving onto tea :)
Yesterday was a bit of a nightmare, the OH and I had a huge row, lot's of tears and slamming things from me...but I didn't reach for the wine,
instead I went for a stomp around the village to calm down!! I'm not sure who was more shocked him or me!!!
I won't be drinking today as Im driving tonight,
so can I declare 2 more AFD please Shaggy

Off to do some marking boohoo :(
Hope everyone else is enjoying their Sunday!

    Afternoon everyone

Gardenanna - does sound like you are going through it with DIL at the moment. Many ((Hugs))

Mari - Well done on not reaching for the wine. When I get really angry I usually find myself scrubbing the house like a demon!:rotfl:

Stuck to the one bottle as planned last night. However, woke this morning feeling incredibly hungover.:( Took till lunchtime to feel slightly better. This afternoon webundled the boys in the car and went to a big park for a kick around with a football. Certainly blew some cobwebs away!

  • Thank you everyone for the hugs and good wishes. I walked the legs off the dog this morning and went to the gym this afternoon - both helped me feel better and I managed to survive the (for me) danger zone of cooking/eating dinner so I feel sure tonight will be af YAY!

My d-i-l has been addicted for years and we try to support the kids as best we can - one of the boys lives with me most of the time. Mostly I concentrate on the kids and try not to provoke her but I inadvertently said something "wrong" last week and the venom was unleashed. Even though I've seen it happen to other family members and I know that she's in a very bad place it still hurt like hell. Feel loads better now and SOOO glad I've got you all to unload too.

On a MUCH cheerier note I'm off on hols in 6 weeks too Bearacus and am also trying to get into the shorts -I'll think of you when the cake tin beckons and together we'll have (hahaha) those bikini bods in no time :rotfl:

  • Hi 13 days afd please shaggy. drank friday and felt so rough after a bottle of wine that I didn't drink last night! Had a couple of glass today at Sunday dinner with my brother and his girl friend and felt in control-had coffee and diet lemonade in between drinks too! Rachel-big hugs to you and glad your mum has perked up-must have been v traumatic for you. When my mum had her chemo the steroids were the only things that kept her going and gave her 3 'normal' days per cycle. Well done everyone who has been af this weekend and those who were moderate drinkers-and those like me who went a bit crazy on friday night and payed for it!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
