    Hi Crazymum,
things are hectic here. I am in the final year of my degree, so busy doing my dissertation as well as essay writing and exam prep.
It means a lot of late nights and early mornings. I am shattered!!

Well done on so many AF's, its great to see you getting more each day!
  • Thank you to everyone sending hugs this morning - oh boy do I need one. Hideous night of abusive phone calls and texts from my drug and alcohol addicted d-i-l. I feel like I've been run over by a bus this morning. On the plus side I didn't reach for the bottle though my OH did and got very drunk so by midnight I was trying to cope with her calls AND his drunken reaction to them.

    3 more AFDs please Shaggy

Hi all and thank you all for the lovely supporting posts and tips. So last night my aim was to have 3 glasses, well I didn't manage that but I did manage 4 so for the first time for ages I did not drink the whole bottle. I am pleased, I started drinking later I went to the gym first and I did not rush the wine so my aim tonight is 3. Well done to everyone , I am looking forward to having AF days but little steps will do . Af days will be much harder because my mind knows it will get some wine. Just got to not have the whole bottle. On my phone got to do dinner then shopping so will try and get on my laptop later. This writing is tiny, just hope it reads as I think I wrote.. lol. Thank you all so much for being here .

Hi everyone, well done Shar-ona you,ve made a really good start, keep going!! The later u start the less u drink.
kept really busy yesterday, even spent the afternoon gardening. Came in tired but happpy, when x partner arrived. He wanted to offload all his problems. By the time he left I was physically and mentally knackered:cry:
Normally i would have immediately reached for the bottle of wine; but no alcohol in the house. I had a hot bath instead. But did give in to the chocolate.:EasterBunNot so good for the diet.:(
I also didn't want to let you all down! Thanks for the support!!
    C u soon.

    Afternoon all!

    SNC challenge completed please Bearacus!

Shaggy - well done on completing day one of the diet. All my endeavours seem to fail by lunchtime!!!:o

Gardenanna - ((hugs)) to you. Sounds like you had quite a night. Hope things have calmed down now.

WBF - I'm exactly the same. If I've had a drink I can guarantee I'll be awake about 2am for a good couple of hours. Makes you wonder why we do it!

Anyway, Friday at last. Planning on NOT having a drink tonight if I can possibly manage it. Going to have a hot choc, a lovely bubble bath and read a book (reading a true story called "Cowboy and Wills" about a young autistic boy who's life was changed competely by getting a dog. Very emotional so best read without a drink in me or I'll be a blubbering mess!!)

Hi from a grey, wet East Anglia

Well, I passed my first test since going AF on 10th January. Ex visited today and although we get on OK now we're separated his visits usually bring on stressful feelings. But didn't drink last night and now he has been and gone and I'm sure I won't be tempted tonight as I feel just fine :T

So, won't count today yet, but it's still 10/22 AFD for January thanks Shaggy. That's the longest I've been without a drink in over 10 years!

Good luck to everyone for this evening.

    Another AFD here thanks!!
I had a beer on Weds, but TBH I could have happily lived without it. It was a wheat beer- I bought 3 for NYE and still had two left lol.
I have a dilemma tonight- Its a friends birthday and shes asked me to the pub- she is a MASSIVE drinker and so is other mutual friend who will be there- in fact she is an alcoholic- 2 cans of beer before morning school run etc. Its terribly sad but she seems quite *happy* with herself and opening admits shes an alky. SOOOOOO they have invited me to the pub- I want to go becuse friend whos birthday it is has just split up with bloke etc but *shock horror* I dont want to drink *falls over*. I am feeling SO amazing at the mo and this is my only weekend off this month so Id quite like to just hang out with husband and kids and no headache. ALso another friend wants to go for a drink who is really hard work so Id HAVEto drink to manage her LOL. On the flipside though I tend to get quite insular when not drinking and have been feeling a bit cabin fever in the house with the kids driving me bonkers so maybe I need to escape for the evening!
    Ooh dilemma!!

edited for appalling false nail related typing!

    15 AF please Shaggy

:grouphug: for you Gardenanna and anyone else who needs them

:T to Peterbuuny on resisting the tempatation of alcohol last night and for everyone who has clocked up an AF days this week

Iristhedragon your reason for editing your post made me :rotfl:as for your dilema, its a tough one, its like having the angel and devil on your shoulder. The angel is saying 'go along and dont drink you will thank me in the morning' and then the wee devil is saying ' go for it, you deserve it, you've had a tough week'. I wonder who will win??? Hope you have a nice night whatever you decide

My and DH off out for dinner this eve, wont be AF but plan to only have 1 maybe 2 glasses of wine over the whole evening. Going to a housewarming party tomorrow night and already im thinking of a cunning plan to reduce my alchol consumptiom. I drink vodka and diet tonic so my plan is that every 2nd glass will be the tonic minus the vodka. Will report back if my plan succeeded or not.
Have a lovely weekend everyone x
