First of all - welcome to the thread :D

Secondly, I've found that this time of year is quite a good time to be cutting back on the booze, because everyone around me seems to have some crazy new years resolution or other, and so I'm not really sticking out at all!

That's roughly what I was going to say H204ME (and welcome of course:o). You've chosen a great week as the advisability of AF days has been all over the news media. So, if asked, tell them you thought you'd give it a try. It's always a 9 day wonder anyhow. Good luck.

My DH has had 2 AF days this week and tonight he stopped at 1 glass with supper. He's a very sensible drinker so the news must have got to him too. What was strange was that he poured a glass from a bottle I'd had some from yesterday. I was out for a meal last night and had a glass in the pub. When I got home I poured myself another. It tasted disgusting and I poured it down the sink. I was going to do the same with the rest of the bottle but didn't get around to it. DH obviously thought it was perfectly OK. I think I must be developing expensive tastes or going off the stuff???

Another for me tonight, so 6AFDs for January and 2 for the SNC please.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I am thinking about joining the SNC due to the fact that i wont be able to reach my target after drinking those 2 glasses the other night. So, can i PLEASE join the SNC with Bearacus and carry on a running total with shaggy?

No problems - you can do both :T

welcomewagon.gif Welcome to all the newbies. If anyone wants to join the January Challenge it's not too late! Just let me know how many AFDs (alcohol free days) you want to target (or you can be TF target free if you want) and how many (if any) you've achieved so far and I'll put you on the list.....

I am a big failure this morning.
I had 2 glasses of wine last night.
In a way, i dont see it as a failure though, for several reasons:

The plan was to stop alcohol effecting my daily life. I am able to get up with the kids with no problems this morning and dont feel drowsy, so thats good :)

I still havent drank anywhere NEAR as much as i normally would do over the last 12 days! I normally would have had about 3 bottles a week, so to have had 4 glasses in almost 2 weeks is a real breakthrough for me.

Got to concentrate on the positives! I am STILL planning on going teetotal, but its a work in progress (as you can tell!).
  • Cleggie to go from 6 bottles of wine to 4 glasses is a huge achievement :j:j:j
    hope you're feeling better :)

I feel like a bit of a let down and think its probably best if i dont come on this thread again until i can sort myself out and do it 'properly'.
