Well done Crazymum, what a fab achievement!!
Thanks Mairi and crazymum for the well wishes. Yes i can get everything i need to online, so its not too bad, although the headache makes reading the books quite hard.0 -
I've been lurking on this thread since the weekend. I usually manage a few af days a week but I have been drinking more and more since before Christmas. I made a complete a*se of myself over Xmas and managed to cut down a bit. I have not had a drink since Sunday but today I am off work and I could murder a glass of wine. It always hits me hardest on the third day (which I think is the day it leaves your system). My friend is doing a shift in the pub at three and it's taking everything I have not to get ready to go. I have just been to the shop and managed not to buy any wine. Funny thing is it's just wine I'm craving, I have various spirits in the house and I am not bothered by them.
Sorry for rambling but just needed to get it off my chest.0 -

could you not drink some apple juice or grape juice in a wine glass? it might trick your brain into thinking its had some.0 -
HI Guys, Ive had 2AFDs this week (only one smiley on the thing!!!) Wasnt AF last night BUT went for a meal with husband and shared a bottle of wine and then stopped. Didnt come home and drink more, and when we were walking home we BOTH said we could have happily of NOT had the wine! AF tonight and tomorrow night now then Im off to Nottingham for a weekend with work so I will be drinking, only cos I might as well take full advantage of a weekend of no kids (Ive got 4) and 6 other women
Im quite cheerful about drinking last night- as Ive said before my aim is to cut down and find my "stop button" which has a habit of going AWOL betwen the first drink and vomiting. I am however a cheerful drunk and usually just annoy people by singing. Lots. *cringe*Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

hello aneres - welcome
and well done for joining in rather than just lurking.....
Loads of people on here seem to have the same problem with wine....so you're most certainly not alone there.
Maybe think about setting yourself some targets on here - alcohol free days (AFD) or joining the school night challenge.
I think most of us have made complete and utter !!!!!! of ourselves at some point along the way (I perhaps could be world champion at this one ) which is why we're here....
Boredom is quite often the reason we drink....maybe plan an evening of nice things instead.
I'm waffling now......good luck0 -
idristhedragon - just have to say, your stories are simply brilliant....you always make me laugh (even when I don't think I'm supposed to
). I'm liking the stop button - somewhere between the first drink and vomiting

I decided to go booze free for 30 days 3 days a go and am so glad I found this thread today for support. I even managed a trip to the pub last night with my two oldest friends and drinking buddies surving on tomato juice... in fact I enjoyed it more than a drink! You're gonna have to help me give up that next i think I might be addicted!
Good luck everyone

Hi Aneres - you sound just like meIt's always the wine that I crave and whenever I try to have afd's day 3 is always the hardest. I just thought I ran out of willpower - I never knew that about it leaving your system. Hope you're still doing ok. Good luck and welcome
