10 AF days for me now. We had a team lunch for a colleague who is leaving, and 7 out of 9 had wine... but I resisted, yay.

I've shifted 1.5 lbs of the 4 lbs I put on over Christmas/New Year. That's pretty good for me, as I don't lose weight quickly, despite putting it on quickly.

My doggie is much improved today, and has got her appetite back.

Well done satchmo with the resolve to do what is best for YOU and with all that peer pressure (I mean others around you drinking), I probably would have caved. Your weight loss is good because alcohol is empty calories and full of artificial stuff which your body longs to get rid of. Glad the dog is improving, and so pleased for u keep it up you are amazing hun.

    Hi everyone
Wasnt AF tonite so no full monty on the SNC for Mackeroo this week:o really fancied a glass of wine around 7ish and despite trying all my usual avoidance tactics it was still calling me so I poured a glass, stopped at 1 glass tho Wont be AF tmro eve as have a family party to go to which will be fun.

Really need to focus next week on losing the 3 or so pounds put on during Dec/early Jan, after losing 4 and half stones and being at goal i really dont want it all to creep back on. Ive been eating way too much chocolate and carbs so going to try and reduce them next week and eat more protein..ok this is turning into a WW blog so will stop there! :)
Have a good weekend everyone x

  • Hi all

    AF - 10/31

Got the Thursday wine feeling tonight but have a bottle of Becks blue with lime. I am determined to not have any drink this month.

Trouble is I am already thinking I have a couple of parties in February, and that maybe I will have a drink. Not sure if it will be a good idea.

I am going to continue to take one day at a time, and continue to keep busy clearing out.

I do feel so much better AF, my head is clear, I am preparing good meals for everyone and keeping on top of the house work, as well as working a full time job. It's all much easier to manage AF. If only I could just have a couple of glasses at weekend- not sure i can though.

    Goodnight everyone
    Julie

Late post tonight - I went out for a meal with some girl friends and I did have a little bit of wine so no more to add to the AFDs. I won't drink tomorrow evening though, so hoping I can add that onto the SNC - will it count, mackeroo?.

Jak, you have my sympathy with the toxic friend. Maybe she is like this because she was so close to you before when she was having a hard time - perhaps somehow feeling threatened by you knowing so much about her personal life and not wanting that now that her husband is better? You need to be bigger than her, she can only play games with you if you let her.

41, I really understand what you mean about 'feeling resentful' and feeling as if you're missing out. we just have to believe and know that it is life that we miss out on when we drink too much - missed days with hangovers, missed opportunities to be sincere and close to the ones we love, missed conversations that we forget through drink, missed trust from our children when we don't keep to our word.

Mari, I also have a 16 year old that sometimes shouts at me - he normally gets a good telling off, but sometimes I find teenagers just overwhelming. But drinking doesn't really help with them.

Great that everyone is doing so well on the AFDs - yeah, we rock!
    Trying to keep in budget.

    Mornng :hello:

1 AFD for the SNC please and thank you mackeroo :D

Got on the scales this morning - how-to-diet.jpg

Seriously, I've lost half a stone since this time last year and now it's time to get back on the diet wagon again as me and OH have booked two weeks in sunny Spain in early July. All the xmas food has gone and I have no money as I need to clear my credit card so it should be easy lol!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Another one for me, tougher last night but I opened a San pellegrino and peeled some spuds and the feeling went away. A late dinner definitely makes me hear the bells more.

Mackeroo, that's my full monty of 4 SNC completed and 6/10 please Shaggy!

    Yippee to Friday!

Mackeroo, for what it's worth I really wish I'd nipped those extra few lbs in the bud 7 years ago after I got to my target weight. Good luck! Shaggy, I'd like to be slimmer this year too - and fitter.

Maman, hope you're feeling better. Mari, that sounds like a Baaadd day - you are so strong for resisting - well done! Satchmo, good job on resisting too and pleased re your doggy! (and envious re losing weight, I'm back to ww again and trying to stick to it!) Julie, day at a time and just do it and stop discussing it has worked for me this week. The debating society in my head takes so much energy I want things to be simpler. And think of all the clearing out results you'll have :)

Right, I'm trying for moderation this evening. Have a Good Friday everyone!
