What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Well I'm having a horrible day. Toxic Mummy (who previously was a really good friend) volunteered the info that she had to do some stuff at school this morning for the pta. Whatever, fine, then it turns out she lied so she and another 'friend' could have coffee without me. Feel like the left out one at school. I'm actually so upset about it. It's stupid really, but when I text the other girl (as we had loosely aranged lunch) for a time, toxic Mummy text me back inviting me to coffee as they were already there, and clearlyt had no intention of asking me. Mope. I'm sat here in tears. I feel so crap. It's horrible. Especiallty as toxic Mummys hubby recently had some sort of breakdown and she was round every evening and called constantly(for a good year and a half I might add!), now he's better, she's not bothered with me at all. I know I don't want people like her in my life but unfortunately, we are part of the same close knit friendship group and four of us tend to hang out and do stuff. Looks like i've been dumped!
On the bright side, the othe girl i'm friends with is busy today so at least (I assume) she's still a friend. X

  • Jak..sounds ike you had a lucky escape from toxic friend..dont worry about your tight knit of friends, id say just be polite if shes in the same group but id personally not waste anymore of your time and emotions on someone who clearly only wants to be friends when she can get something she needs from you. Sorry xx Its allways sad when you realise a once close relationship has run its course.

Another 1af to report 8/31 and 3 for the snc thanks

  • hi everyone, everytime I try to type in different colour it doesn't work so here goes again lol.
8 AF days out of 31 here's hoping, it is getting easier though I swear it is as long as there are no crises.
And now drumroll, 3 SN AF .
The reason why I am actually following through instead of idealising of a world without alcohol - you lot and the more honest and open the posts are the more I feel that I can carry on. So thankyou so much, my trousers feel bit more comfy, I think I'm sleeping better, my antidepressants are probably being given a chance to work and my antibiotics for my ear infection. I am trying to lose weight and this can only be a good thing, however I am drinking lots of tea and coffee but what the heck, hey I've cut down the chocs and junk a bit so little steps at a time. OH got the runs so he's off today don't know whether he be going to darts tonight, last Thursday night was my last drink so wish me luck. But to be honest I haven't got that resentful feeling I usually have like I'm missing out and everyone else in the world is drinking. The wine is still looking at me everytime I open the fridge and I'm waiting for OH to bin it. I look at it and imagine it going off hahahaha. Looks like pee too so I'm not fancying it.

I can so relate to this post and I've been there too. Was bullied and excluded at school, takes me back to those days. I am such a loyal person, and this sort of thing is so upsetting. I don't know what to advise because when I was going through it nothing helped apart from the fact that you are able to control how it affects you. If you get upset then that is up to you. Obviously you care about this person and that is why you are upset, it is not nice. Write down how u feel and then you will see things you didnt realise. I used to drink to deal with these feelings, now I try to let them go and if she is a true friend she will realise the problem. If not you are worthy of friends who are not so insensitive, and it will come.
