CuppaT, after story time, I used to sit in the darkened bedroom with my little boy (decades ago), not being active. I put the chair near to the open door, and would try sneaking out - he always said "I'm awake" if I tried to sneak out before he drifted off. I often had a short snooze myself (I wondered if my snoozing settled him into sleep?). Just remember, this too will pass, it's still fairly early days yet for all of you.

    Hugs, Satchmo x

My sister used to do this too - her kids are much older now and she has the opposite problem - she can't get them out of bed!!!
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Morning All :D

Slept really well last night, and as a consequence am up and ready bright and early today.

mackeroo - I started my SNC on Sunday is that OK? If that complicates things put me down for 1!! Thanks so much for scoring :)

Satchmo - Hope your little dog is a bit better today, it's horrible when they are unwell :( sending big hugs my dear.

Jak - Well done on staying strong, it's seems as if the support group is really helping too. I think part of the solution is cutting ties with the life that includes lots of alcohol and that includes people too who we tend to drink with. In the past when cutting down it has become really apparent which are my drinking friends and which just my friends who don't pile on the pressure. Anyway keep it up you are a star :A

Right, off to work then! Have a great Tuesday everyone,

    Mari xx
  • Morning all,

AF last night so 1 for the SNC please Mackeroo and 3/10 so far Shaggy - thanks!. I have had a bad cough and sore throat for the last few days so sleeping poorly. Beginning to doubt I'll ever get better. Usually a good sign the worst is nearly over - fingers crossed.

Still had bells last night, until dinner. I think being hungry adds to the clanging in the evening.

Have a good day everyone, hope the doggies get better.

Hi Chez. I know exactly how you feel! That's what I did! I ended up calling AA and being escorted to a meeting. Best thing I ever did! I'm on day 10 sober now!!!! I feel great! I was drinking between 2 and sometimes 3 bottles of wine a night, every night. I had sweats at night for 2 nights but apart from that i've been ok. This thread is great. I started reading through from the beginning and it's massively helped me. Best of luck and if you can, just put that first drink off for 15 mins, then 30, then an hour and see how you get on. Also buy sweets, your body will crave sugar from the alcohol and they REALLY help!!! Good luck and even if you don't cut back/stop now, keep coming back. This thread is very supportive and no one will kick you when your down xx
