3/22 AF days so far. Like a lot of people, I don't find it too hard during the week, but weekends are tough. However, I'm going to stick to the lime n soda in a fancy wine glass.

I need to go easy on the "treats" as I had chocolate cake, crisps, Christmas cake and an Atkins chocolate coconut bar today. If I don't eat sweet stuff I'm fine, but eating so many goodies over Christmas has re-awakened my sweet tooth and it needs to stop before I pile back the 22 lbs I managed to lose in 2012.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

By the way, apparently, when you stop drinking your body craves sugar so I've been told not to worry about eating sweet things as it evens out as you become used to not drinking.
That is true Jak. I encourage people I help to just eat sweets whenever they crave them, at least for the first month AF. I figure sugar is nowhere near as harmful and can be worked on later.

Sending you a big hug cuppa. It may not feel like it now but it will get better.

For those of you worried about your waistlines: When I started, I was hoping that cutting down on the empty calories in alcohol would help me lose weight. It didn't have any noticeable effect BUT...9 months after joining this thread and getting in control of my drinking I joined Slimming World. SW is a healthy eating plan where things like booze, chocolate, crisps, cakes are all relegated to occasional treat status. Having cut down already I didn't find it a problem. I lost 3.5 stone in 10 months and have kept it off since. It can be done.

    2 AFDs please Shaggy.

    Morning :D

Well even though I don't need to be up for work today, I am up an feeling ready for the day! Didn't sleep quite as well last night, but that may be down to worrying about this up and coming exam :(

CuppaYou are doing so well, the early days are difficult, especially when the decision to split isn't yours. Just take one day at a time and it will get easier. Like you have said yourself it's a bereavement, hopefully the support group will help you to get your head around some of the feelings you have at the moment. Take care my dear :)

Right off to get the day organised, the revise some more!

    Have a great Friday everyone,

    Mari xx

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
