Tomorrow will present a challenge for me. My son has been invited to a birthday party and it's at one of those pub/kids play areas places. The challenge won't be the drink so much as a difficult time im having with a friend who will be there. Our kids are in the same class and aren't getting on very well, unfortunately, she tells my son off constantly but her son never does wrong in her eyes so its a tricky one and i find it bloody hard at the best of times. Sadly her little boy has realised that he can do no wrong and drives my son up the wall teasing him etc. My little one is no angel but it breaks my heart. I'm going to have to really be on the ball tomorrow and not leave them alone together for a second. I'm dreading it but I've kept my boy home from a few social things recently because of it and i don't want him to miss out. It's not great timing but i'll just have to grim (not a typo!) and bare it for tomorrow and hope I doesn't end in tears again, usually mine!
Sometimes problems seem insurmountable. I mean, I know they aren't logically, but still. Anyway, wish me luck cause i'm going to need it. X

Going to declare AFD # 2 here, am hanging so once I've finished a bit of revision I need to do it's bath and bed for me :)

We done Jak and kittiej on your AFD's :T

Jak ~ are any of your other friends aware of what's going on? Perhaps someone else could help by stepping in if the boy starts on your lad. Sometimes it's easier if a third party sorts that type of thing out. Hope it isn't as bad as you fear.

    Good luck for tonight everyone,

    Mari xx

Aw it can be such a nightmare being a parent sometimes, at least if you are focusing on the kids it might take your mind off things.

You're doing incredibly well. I'm back in work tomorrow :)

Hi Mari, a big well done to you too for reaching 2af days.

I'll be going to bed soon as the husband is working at 2am instead of 5am due to staff shortages.

Too true 365. No point in swimming against the tide if the other parent is deaf to all things involving their child - it will all end in tears when he's 14 and wanting money from his mother's purse. I can't see 'no' being an option.

Actually, that really helped. Thanks. I will stay in the play area with my boy and hope that deters the little *** from picking on him. Hopefully that will make a bit of a difference. The last time I asked him not to scream in my childs face, he got his Mum and had the mother of all screaming fits until he was nearly sick. Hmmmm. I supose on a positive note, I did step in. I have a group of Mummy friends who we've known since the kids were 8 weeks old. The others know it's a problem so hopefully someone will say something if necessary. It's the courage part I will be firmly taking with me tomorrow. And will be hoping for the serenity when I get home!!!!! (minus wine!) X

Maybe you can't change her though. Just try to avoid getting wound up and stressed. It's not helpful when you in the very early days of stopping drinking.

Think lovely thoughts, and rise above it secure in the knowledge that she must have her own heap of stuff she still has to deal with while you are actually dealing with yours.

    And breathe!! ;)

2 days here too  (lemonade ;) )

Been a hellish one today as well, still felt poorly, logged onto internet banking to see if CSA was in and it's not so phoned them to find Falkirk office are on bank holiday (after 3 phonecalls diverted to other offices, someone decided to tell me, on 0845 numbers too ).

I had already arranged an OD increase just to cover some bits coming out this week but that isn't showing online either so phoned them (another 0845 number  ) to be told that as far as they could see, it was on. I have the name of the person I spoke to, the time and date of the call and the number I phoned so woe betide them if they try and charge me now.

Last year, this stress would have seen me diving for the wine so pretty proud I settled for jalapeno doritos and lemonade to be honest - will worry about the waistline later, one thing at a time!

Well done all who have not given in today :T
