Hi Mackeroo, the grapevine gift I saw was of a plant and a bottle of wine @ £44 from "not on the high street" ... (the raw ingredient and the finished product?), then there was an idea of an olive tree and a bottle of olive oil. I thought they were good ideas but way over my budget, so searched online and found 2 x grapevines for £12 (plus 3% cashback) - which means I managed to buy the vine and the wine for a tenner. They're for my two brothers who both have lovely gardens, and like a decent bottle of wine.

6/10 AF please Shaggy/Mackeroo. The run may or may not hold out this weekend, does anyone have a gag for the evil sirens in my head trying to lure me onto the rocks? My DH has been signed off work with insomnia and depression due to work-related stress. I know all about that, having gone through 2 years of crazy-b&tch-boss related stress not so long ago. He's been asking for a move out of his department for more than 5 years and nothing has happened. He is extremely over qualified for the grunt work he has to do, being MBA-qualified with finance/economist background in the car industry. In probably the only section of industry that can't hire enough of the right people, so no threat of redundancy, and it seems to me they've got a shed load of slackers left right and centre.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • 2 AF days to add for me please 3/10.
Got the works Christmas do tonight but I volunteered to drive so will be another AF day to add later.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    EDIT : I'VE UPDATED #4047
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
  • 4 please, thanks, Shaggy

Satchmo1 - sending sympathy for your poor DH and for you, especially at this time of the year. I am thinking about the olive tree + olive oil for a couple of presents!!!!

Sympathies to your DH. Never had a B1*ch from hell boss, but certainly had a few colleagues who liked to make my life difficult.

  • Not much happening in the Rainman household. We went to see the Coke Truck, which was very underwhelming :D I'm sure it would have been nicer once it got dark.
I missed all the excitement at work on Wednesday as we had a visit from our very own Popstar. They filmed in the department I work, my boss was very excited about meeting Nicole. Apparently it was "Jahmazing" :rotfl:

Counting down the days until MrR has his appointment to review his bloodtest results.

    Have a happy Friday :D
