Only 2 AF so far for November, am setting target at 15 this month please.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Good morning.

No booze for me last night so that's 3AF days for November and 3 for the SNC.

    Have a great day

I had lots of support of my dad (who lives not far from me) which helped A LOT.

Also my own self motivation to stop and then to stay off the booze has helped.

55 weeks now AF for me.

Well that glimmer of light I may have mentioned previously. It's disappeared into a box. Specifically a box of wine.
So for all those words, we have actually gone backwards.
I know it doesn't help but I lost my temper last night, reduced MrR to tears. But an hour later he was behaving like nothing had happened so I guess he'd forgotten the conversation that quickly.

I have a question for those that have really struggled with Alcohol. Do you wish your friends/family had intervened? Helped you? Or would you have not listened to them and you had to wait for your own lightbulb moment? I just don't now whether to do something or let him self-destruct.

    Happy Monday everyone :D

Off to my older sisters today (with my dad & stepmum) to meet up with my kid brother for our family Xmas dinner tonight.

(Brother works in retail and lives so far away from us that he couldnt do a Xmas meal on Xmas day).

So tonight will be AF for me (55 weeks AF now me for me).

    EDIT I HAVE UPDATED #3750
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Thank you for your feedback Cuppa, Tracy & Antonic.
Well I have a bit of good news :D

Monday afternoon I phoned the doctors to see if I could get an appointment for MrR. I expected them to tell me I'd have to wait a week but they offered one for the next morning  Which meant I had to 'fess up to MrR. I thought he would go mental but to be fair to him he just nodded and said "yes, I think it's about time". So yesterday morning off he went to the Docs. He's been given the number for the NHS advisory clinic where we live and he has to go back next week for a blood test which will determine if he has done any damage.
I asked him last night if he was pleased that he went. He said yes, he was shocked that I had called them but understood why. I think he realises that I'm serious when I say I can't live like this and bring BabyR up in this environment.

Hope you all have a happy wednesday. My day will be mostly nappy changes as BabyR has a bad tummy :(

Great news MrsR, well done you for taking that initiative.

I'm getting nowhere with AFDs this month. Haven't had a day since last Wednesday when I haven't been out to lunch or supper and I've had a drink every time albeit moderate.

I know I could sort it by having a soft drink but.....

Enjoy your Christmas lunch anatonic, double celebration.:T
