PLEASE PUT YOUR TARGET AFDs IN A BOLD RED FONT and good luck! (and if I've made any mistakes, don't be shy, please let me know!)
EVERYONE WELCOMEWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
I made it to 21AF for Oct
It must have been the night for bells! I thought I would get some wine in, mentioned it to the kids, as I always tell them what we need shopping so I don't forget...they shouted out, 'No, you don't need wine!'
They made me giggle, and that was my wine shop finished lol
Hope everyone has a great weekend
I am off to my Grandads, and need to break the news that his gay Grandaughter is having twins with her partner :rotfl:
Oh, and they are getting married....
Think I will require wine for the aftermath lol0 -
Happy November to everyone.
Hope you achieve your AF targets.
Only read back a few pages on the thread, picked up on openscreen. How did your meeting go?
I was always able to stop drinking, staying stopped was my problem.I stopped for 3years once on my own then picked up again.
Since my first AA meeiting I have not drank,I still go to meetings, they help me so much with dealing with life,it is not about drinking any more for me.
I wish you all well.Sobriety delivers everything Alcohol promised.
Alcohol free since May 23rd 2003.0 -
In an attempt to help me and anyone else to have a positive November in the lead up to :santa2: As of next week im happy to run the School Night Challenge for the month of November. I will do the usual 'roll up roll up ' call on Sunday so if anyone interested in joining me you can let me know
Oh Mackeroo, I'd find that so useful as it's the drinking during the week that I find hardest to deal with - just feel I shouldn't drink on a school night and also I need every drop of energy I can find because Ihave to get up early and it kills me!!!
I'm intending an AF night tonight but won't declare until laterTrying to keep in budget.

Morning :hello:
Decided to go for a drink after work with a friend - I didn't go wild but no more AFDs to report.

Hi all, just read back, hope open screen is ok!
Thanks to mackeroo for offering to join the SNC. I need to get back on track of things. Its not that I am drinking massively compared to before, but i am drinking most nights, just a couple. Its that early evening slot that i find so hard to resist, if i get past that, then generally i am ok. I'm going to bed feeling fine, reading a book, dealing with any night time issues and waking up absolutely fine, but those 1-3 units are nearly everyday, so i need to work on that.
Its like i want to treat myself, unwind or just generally indulge. Not helped by the fact that I have had company through friends or family most evenings, so i have offered a drink and its gone from there.
Yesterday was gonna by AF in the morning, but by 6pm it wasn't. Silly really. The good thing is i am measuring the alcohol, so i know its strictly a unit, not a home measure.
I'm going for a AF day tonight. I am out over that dodgy time, so if i eat as soon as i return, i'll be ok.
Sad, sad me.............
Good luck to everyone else and i need to come back here more regularly, just not always possible.
Is Markman around, when he disappears its generally not good AF wise. Fingers crossed its just RL.
Here's to a better AFness for November for me.
Have to say when I look back at where I was last year, there is a big improvement. Must remember that.Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -

I don't think it's sad at all cuppa. Wine o'clock is really hard for us all. I'd take heart from the fact you've had visitors drinking with you. That's a social thing and perfectly acceptable. I remember someone on here having a target of not drinking alone. I think that's a good one to aim for.
No AFness for me yet. I stayed over with my best friend last night. Previously, visiting her would be a cue for massive booze up and huge hangover (I remember once falling asleep in her bath, empty fortunately:o). Last night we had a civilised dinner party with aperitif, wine, port, brandy. All in sensible amounts and with plenty of coffee and water. I'm tired today but that's just from late night and strange bed. I do so enjoy being normal.:D0 -

Had a few missed drinking days. Not had one for 6 days now. Meetings went ok. Will set my Nov target tomorrow. Only trouble is I am working in Italy for just pver a week & may pick up there, & later in the month in Belgium for 5 days, where I am always tempted. May set target to say 15 AFD & if I beat it all well & good. Thanks for the support!Openscreen
