It's the annual Day of Prayer at my organisation - 40,000 people worldwide praying for children, for change, for good. I'll pray for all of us too xxx
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Think I am going to set a target of 15 days for October, after 2 months with no target

I have lots planned for this month, but am going to try really hard to not drink in the week - easier said than done with work being so rubbish at the mo.
I have done it before, so why not now?!?
Must re read the book again :)

Sending you a hug misslr. I don't like what your OH is doing. Why is he being so nasty? You confused me a bit saying you only had a few glasses with water in between and then saying you had too much. Is it possible you don't remember things you said/did??? I'm sure you're doing the right thing cutting down but that's for you not him.
Think you need to go back and read my post, I said I had small glasses of wine with a few glasses of water too. Nothing about a few glasses of wine.

So yes thank you very much I DO remember, being precisely the point I was upset about. You sound exactly like my DH and frankly I don't need that from someone who hasn't met me when I clearly get this from someone I live with.

  • Sorry people have been feeling so low. I too fell off the wagon spectacularly on Friday, which led to drinking Saturday, and 3 pints yesterday with pub lunch.
I am so furious and disgusted with myself. I am a loud attention seeking boring drunk. I hate myself when I get hold of the stereo and play the same songs and dance the same drunken dance and wake up feeling like absolute carp having to deal with my poor children (in fact DH took them all out Sat and I slept til 11.40). I hate feeling so rubbish the next day that I am incapable. I hate having to drink again to feel better, I hate dreading work on a Monday cos I know Ill still feel wibbly from the weekend excesses.
I havent been to the gym since July so am hoping to rectify that this week and have 20 AFDS in October including some weekend nights, as I need to get out of this STUPID friday night binging.
I hope everyone is feeling a bit better and we can look forward to a lovely shiny healthy happy October

Hello well was not AF by any stretch of imagination yesterday however I was quite happy, small glasses of wine few glasses of water in there too. Was quite an emotional evening one way of the other with lots of people bringing up memories of long ago plus some fairly brutal new stuff being shared.
All in all OK until I went to leave few tears and nearly a misunderstanding but all OK and then DH starts. Accusing me of lying and exaggerating when recounting stories. When I asked for an example of this he could not provide one, just kept saying I was a drunkard and didn't know what I was doing or saying I exaggerate and yet still not have an example.
So evening did not end so well.
I did drink too much. Really I should have stopped about 2 glasses before i did and I am a bit annoyed about that. But all told the most upsetting thing was being told I had done stuff and said stuff I hadn't and it just made me feel very brow beaten and totally knocked my self confidence.
So options going forward is no drink at all or deal with DH some how or .... Any other suggestions?
Also I Do remember how drinking this much makes you feel very carp. Not to be repeated

I'm so sorry to I have offended you misslr. I really don't think your OH is being fair but when you said you'd drunk too much I was confused. Sorry, I got it wrong.

Hi all, quick pop in to catch up and motivate myself as I was wobbling earlier, but this place soon curbed that.

last day of sept was Af making my final count 23 I believe I lost count, but I think i probably drank 7 days.

For October I'll set a score of 20 (using the underestimating tactic here, but would like 25+.

Also I'll do the full monty SNC this week too please 1AF for October please.

misslr, for what's its worth I actually didnt read Maman's post as anything other than helpful and I would have been very surprised if it was anything other than supportive, as that is why we are all here. I too was confused initially by what you had written but managed to work it out. I hope you are ok as its unlike anyone here to take things personally, I like to think of us as one of the few supportive communities on MSE!

Thanks all for your recent mentions of support and encouragement I did read them but was unable to reply at the time.

Things here are moving on, my pains are worsening, so the doc is doing blood tests on wed, results fri hopefully, I am also going to be referred to counseling and have been signed off work for a fortnight until I can stop crying and the stomach/back pains are investigated. My sleep is limited and my emotional state is unstable, but I am AF more than ever, I think the stomach pains worry me a lot and that puts me off drinking. Doc said it could be liver, kidneys, gallstones, ulcers who knows, but she is going to try to bump me up the list for a camera going down, its still 3 weeks away and i'm getting very uncomfortable.

DH still not here, yesterday in private my dad said to him "I think you have already made your decision, you just haven't got the balls to say it". DH apparently didn't reply. Confusingly late last night he did proceed to send me innuendo texts, so it really doesn't make sense.

I've also been trying really hard with the ED's this week which has got to be beneficial, baby baby steps.

Hope everyone else who is struggling is ok and sending my warmest thoughts to our group.
