    Everyone Welcome.

    Hi Shaggy & everyone,

Please could I rejoin you all and aim for a 10 to start me off again in October. I'm hoping you will welcome me back after such a long gap since Feb - I won't attempt to catch up but Shaggy I was so pleased about your test results while I've been lurking for the last few days.

Please put my target for October as 20 AF days. I jumped off the wagon on Thursday and Friday and paid dearly for it with a thumping head. Friday was the last day of two weeks where I was covering for a job I HATE, and I ended up bursting into tears on Friday afternoon. I know I did a fab job of covering, and sent a detailed report to the colleague for her return, but it is so stressful because if you get it wrong you could have someone stranded in a dangerous country which would lead to very bad press attention. None of that happened, but I couldn't sleep on Thursday night.

I had half a bottle of wine on Thursday (not great for a school night), and at least a full bottle on Friday. I was more restrained on Saturday, with half a bottle.

I'm feeling carp today (hmm, wonder why that is then). Hope others are having a better day.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Everyone Welcome.

Please put me down for 12 for October, thanks!

That's great unself! I can't even comprehend an AF Saturday! Well lets just hope I can do an AF Sunday or I'll miss my target of 6:o

Shaggy - can I have a target of 8 for October please? Surely I can do 2 AF days a week.

    Take care all.

Thanks, a lot of its financially motivated. That £5-£8 a day is a lot of money for me when added up, so is most of my motivation. I also want to lose weight. :o

    Afternoon :hello:

No AFDs to report but I should be jumping back on the wagon tonight.

Time to set targets for October. Personally, I'm hoping for a big number of AFDs in October. The last 2 months have been so stressful (with my sisters breast cancer diagnosis and the consequent raising of my own risk) so it would be nice to have a calm month with less stress and lots of lovely AFDs, lots of lovely exercise and lots of lovely weight loss, (is that too much to ask of the gods?) I even turned down an invite to a party next weekend because I just don't really wanna be around alcohol.

    EDIT I HAVE UPDATED #3463

you just keep the faith you are on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, just dealing with the diagnosis and afterwards is enough, you are coping extremely well and if anyone tells you otherwise they are not being helpful at all

Tesco Credit Card £250 £25 DD 0% for next 10 months.

Barclaycard Initial £241.45 0% for next 7 mths.
    Your parents choose your beginning....
.... you get to choose the ending.
  • The good thing about feeling carp, is that you know why you feel carp. I can't help thinking about you holding a carp fish in your hands and stroking its scales. I'm trying to be serious and sincere here, just got a silly sense of humour. Not laughing at you but me, my sense of humour sometimes is enough to save my life.

Hello well was not AF by any stretch of imagination yesterday however I was quite happy, small glasses of wine few glasses of water in there too. Was quite an emotional evening one way of the other with lots of people bringing up memories of long ago plus some fairly brutal new stuff being shared.
All in all OK until I went to leave few tears and nearly a misunderstanding but all OK and then DH starts. Accusing me of lying and exaggerating when recounting stories. When I asked for an example of this he could not provide one, just kept saying I was a drunkard and didn't know what I was doing or saying I exaggerate and yet still not have an example.
So evening did not end so well.
I did drink too much. Really I should have stopped about 2 glasses before i did and I am a bit annoyed about that. But all told the most upsetting thing was being told I had done stuff and said stuff I hadn't and it just made me feel very brow beaten and totally knocked my self confidence.
So options going forward is no drink at all or deal with DH some how or .... Any other suggestions?
Also I Do remember how drinking this much makes you feel very carp. Not to be repeated

Another af, so 8 for September. Felt a little low today, so just as well no alcohol.

Sorry to hear about what happened misslr. Nothing worse than feeling bullied, or in the wrong when you think things are ok. It sounds like everyone was having a knees up, so not nice to be singled out, when you thought you were all having fun. I hope you sort things out with your OH.

Sending you a hug misslr. I don't like what your OH is doing. Why is he being so nasty? You confused me a bit saying you only had a few glasses with water in between and then saying you had too much. Is it possible you don't remember things you said/did??? I'm sure you're doing the right thing cutting down but that's for you not him.

:T:T:Tthank you so much for the scoring Shaggy. Hope you have the calmer month you are looking forward to in October.

I'm hoping not to have so many distractions and midweek social things this month. I am pleased that I've cut down my drinking a lot when I'm not AF. I always used to have a full bottle. Now after a couple of glasses, I'm fancying a nice cup of tea!

Usual target of 10 for October please Shaggy.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
