I'm definitely not going to make my target AGAIN!!!
Tell me...........do you think it is better to over estimate with your target and be disappointed that you don't ever make it, or under estimate your target so you always do better than expected?
I haven't managed to get it right yet!!!!I would say to underestimate and so you get a positive feeling when you exceed, than overestimate and get a negative feeling when you dont meet your target.
Ditto - underestimate...:)What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

I haven't touched alcohol since then, I have been really tempted but since waking up with a black eye and not sure where it came from I have tried to be strong. I can only say that I agree my skin eyes and face look I am sleeping better and I am trying to lose weight and while reading stuff came across the fact that alcohol and dieting don't mix. Not smug or patronising, know I will probably be writing the opposite next week, need to tell someone cos noone knows im trying to abstain or they will sabotage it in the nicest way.
to the thread and brilliant job so far:T

And that's great news Shaggy - must have been such a long few days. Enjoy your drink!!
Some very dark moments and some very lovely ones.
I don't think I've ever sat in a room with so many scared women - their faces will be etched in my mind forever....
...hats off to the NHS though, they really are amazing.

Monday's AF target sabotaged by a sip (really, just a sip) of bubbly at 09:30 yesterday morning! It was a celebration of a fabulous £1m in donations which arrived in ONE hour to our charity W0rld Visi0n which helps millions of the world's poorest children survive and thrive. It's the first time we've ever received that level of donation. From 3 very generous families. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Just wanted to say a big hello to everyone, congratulations on all your af-ness and SO pleased at your good news Shaggy. You were so supportive when I was on here regularly last year and I was thinking about you at the weekend.
Things are going well for me. I've had a drink 4 times this month so far - all social or a special event - and in moderation. The rest of the time I've been af with only the smallest of twinges. BIG difference from this time last year when I was drinking every day and starting earlier and earlier in the day. There have been setbacks and c*ck ups along the way but I'm happy if I can decide when and how much to drink and stick to it and not grab blindly for the wine out of habit or stress or boredom or because it's there or because the kids are finally in bed or ......
Good luck everyone with your personal journeys. I love to pop in sometimes and hear how you're all getting on.0 -
1AFD for me
Got home from (rubbish) work at 9.30 pm last night, had money in my pocket and had to walk past the supermarket home in the freezing rain. Thought oh I'll nip and get a bottle of wine, after all Im having a bad *womens time* , work was rubbish, its cold and wet, its my daughters birthday tomorrow (today) every justification I could think of and then I thought NO!!! I must admit you guys popped into my head and I went home and had fizzy flavoured water and DH had made a curry and I had 3 poppadums (swimming in grease but hey- they were LUSH!) and woke up this morning soooooo pleasedHave nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.
