  • Hey Shaggy thinking of you today *hug*
Missmucksmum- great news!!! well done your DH

Soooo we had my daughters party saturday and guess who got drunk :( BUT...............I didnt start drinking until about 5pm which was great as the party was officially 1-3pm. However once again I didnt know when to stop and felt terrible all day yesterday. I am definitely better at not starting at all other than trying to reign it in.
On the flip side it WAS a social occasion so its not like it was drinking alone or NEEDING to drink.
I am aiming to be AF 3 nights this week as have social occasions Weds and Fri but Weds is with DH's work so I must behave (a two drink night I think- may even offer to drive) but Friday I am in enetertaining in my house which usually is a huge trigger so I must address that one

    Fcuk - so scary !!! I lost 4 Lbs in 4 days!!!!

Probably have a glass of red tonight then back on the wagon. I'm at work so I haven't had the chance to read back, I'll pop back in the morning.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Havent been on for nearly a month but would like to report that my husband (alcohol dependant for 20 years) has now done his home detox on the 10th of september 2012 it was over 8 days and I am proud to say he hasnt touched a drop of alcohol for 2 whole weeks his last drink was september 9th at 6pm :):):):):) still waiting for his place at rehab but he goes for his assessment there on 3rd of october it has been a long process we originally asked for help on the 1st of june this year its a long process but hopefully not much longer now xxxxxxxxx
That's fantastic news! Your husband must be feeling really happy now. It's all now in his control and with the help of rehab you both have a new life to look forward too!:T:T:T:T:j:j:j

And that's great news Shaggy - must have been such a long few days. Enjoy your drink!!

MrsRainman - how are things with DH. Any positive signs?

And 1 AF for me please Shaggy (that's 4 so far for Sept - save you counting;)).:j BAck on the wagon and going for another tonight (even turned DW's suggestion we go to the pub for a drink before tea down:cool:). I'm going to hit my tiny target if it kills me!:p
Smoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general :p
  • 1 AFD to add for me please.

  • Shaggy - Great news - what a weight off your mind.

41 and i know it - You should find a supportive and honest community here. Everyone is going through their variation of the same thing. Everyone here has taken a big step and admitted they have a problem controlling alcohol - and that is a big thing to do. I think it is the anonymity here that allows for people to express their worries and concerns more honestly and that has got to be good for the soul. Getting a supportive response is even better! Welcome.

Thank you everyone for your ongoing support and kind words.

No AF this weekend but I did manage responsible drinking  on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening! Enjoyed a beer or two. No hangover on any following morning :j But I am not going to be complacent and allow that to slip into more drinking this week.

*Mari* - 4 AF for the SNC please
