Morning all an unexpected AF end to the week which was probably just as well. DH decided he didn't want wine last night (I wanted to try the yummy one we bought before holiday just in case it was as nice as I Remembered ) as he was tired from working overtime and TBH I was probably not in a good headspace being very stressed and upset about work. End result cup of herbal tea and bed. Still took me forever to get to sleep and still didn't sleep well but another to add to the total here please 9 this month then

  • Well done missrlr! I'm really getting into the camomile tea (as well as the morning detox tea £££ :( ) but not AF again yet. Hoping for AF tomorrow and try for a couple more in the week to hit my little target.
Smoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general :p
  • No more AFD's to report for me.
I'm definitely not going to make my target AGAIN!!!
Tell me...........do you think it is better to over estimate with your target and be disappointed that you don't ever make it, or under estimate your target so you always do better than expected?
I haven't managed to get it right yet!!!!

I would say to underestimate and so you get a positive feeling when you exceed, than overestimate and get a negative feeling when you dont meet your target.

Morning, not AF last night but planned. Trouble was we ordered a small glass of prosseco and it was flat, put me off.
ChocolateCupcake I always look an see what is reasonable e.g. I don't want to drink Sun to Thurs inc. as I think driving o work the following dy should be without fear and work takes a lot of brain power for me so need a clear head (bank hols excepted and known planned events excepted too) so I look at the number of those days then aim for that. Then if I manage either a Fri or Sat AF it's a bonus and I get something extra as a boost for that on my total. Helps I have a goal I suppose

    Hello...

Apologies for being AWOL last week, things have been mad here and I just dropped out I suppose, and that has meant that instead of being here and accountable I have had one or more drinks every day

I don't know what to do I just can't seem to get it right, I won't meet my target again, although if I count the units I have had less this month than in a long time...aghhh why is it sooo difficult to just drink less!

Anyway I hope everyone else is OK I am off to read back through.

Does anyone want me to run the School Night Challenge this week?

    Mari x

    Morning :hello:

They couldn't fit me in yesterday and there is no clinic today so I'm having to sweat it out until Monday. I magaged to keep busy and so I tried not to think about it too much _pale_ And on the plus side I couldn't eat a thing.....

Anyways, I bought a bottle of red wine on the way home from work and had a glass before bed. That's my plan for the next few nights. Not great I know but it calms my mind before sleep.

    Happy Friday!

hey there all. would just like to share that there is hope 11 days ago i celebrated 1000 days of continuous sobriety in a room with 800 other clean and sober people. I will say it was amazing and worth every hard day up to now. So roll on the next 1000.

Well done, that is an inspirational achievement :T

Tracy and Maman, its hard isn't it? I feel some days like I am treading water emotionally, especially when I am propping the kids up (as they want Daddy). I could easily bawl my eyes out with them some times.

I don't know what else to say, as today hasnt been a good one and i've spent most of it either with tears in my eyes or fighting them.

Bedtimes is worst as that's when Ds wants his Daddy most. He pulls on the emotional heart strings and fakes crying, which then leads to real crying. Even now, I can hear him faintly sobbing, but if I go in, then I know it will be worse tomorrow. He is crying as he wants me to go in and cuddle him....................oh s*d it, I will. His dad will be around tomorrow night as i'm at work, he can deal with it.

Its so draining playing good cop, bad cop, Mummy, Daddy, working part time, house, garden, shopping, cooking, cleaning, organising, social calendar, school liasion, voluntary worker, friend and daughter.

    And breathe..............

This reminds me of when my DH and I separated for a while, bed times were the worst. We did get into a routine though where DH called every night when he didn't have the kids (and I did the same when they were at his) at a set time and as it became part of the bedtime routine so they settled. It probably helped that he had spent time working away so they were used to that sort of thing.

Make sure you get some 'me' time and that you let those who you support care for you too, otherwise you will burn yourself out. Take care my dear xx
