  • Thanks shaggy for adding me to the list, and to everyone on here who have given me words of encouragement.

On the hot chocolate today, and still not fancying alcohol. I had a few aches this morning, nothing major. My body needs a break from the booze, I'm hoping no damage done. Today I'm aiming for another af day, as it is getting to the point where I don't enjoy drinking by myself.

I'm aiming for as many nights as possible for the school night challenge this week, although am going out, so that might be a problem.

Wishing everybody a good day. :)

Hi all, haven't checked in since last thursday, had a busy few days. Fell off the wagon twice, so i'm feeling cross with myself. The first was fri as a friend came around and seeing as I am deprived of adult company of an evening, they brought some smirnoff ice round, not knowing I was taking september off. I couldn't say no, but I only had 2 drinks and stopped there and made them take the bottle of vodka they had also brought back with them.

Was AF saturday, but sunday I went to a supermarket that isnt local that sells things our local one doesn't. The downside is they also sell my favourite drink so I couldn't resist, I bought a bottle knowing that I would open it later. DH p****d me off majorly this weekend, so that was the "excuse" I was looking for.

I am not too cross about friday as I wasn't drinking on my own and it was extremely moderated, but last night, I was on my own and even though I was measuring my drinks, I was drinking emotionally as a response to DH. I did have water and woke up this morning feeling ok, (as I didn't overdo it),it was just why I did it, not how much I did.

So have a case of the guilts today. I've stuck the rest of it up in the loft and going AF for this week. There was no point lying here about it, as someone said, it doesn't get you anywhere and i'm only cheating myself.

Had a busy day, did my cleaning job, went for a swim, came home and did my housework and got the kids from school, cycled everywhere too. So i've definitely had my exercise for the day.

Feel sad today, the gulf between DH and I is bigger than ever. I'm hormonal too which isn't helping.

I'll do the full monty SNC please Mari and please update me to 15 days please Shaggy.

    Thanks and good luck everyone.

I hope you feel better soon CuppaTea. You've done really well, which has been an inspiration for me. It was only 2 nights, so don't beat yourself up about it. You did a lot better than I'd have done in either situation, remarkably controlled. :)

1 af day for the school night challenge, making 3 days af this month.

No aches at the minute, but I'm suffering from extreme fatigue. Previously I would have had a 'hair of the dog' to recover, but have no craving for booze currently whatsoever, although I want another cup of hot chocolate. Its the fatigue thats hard, my body is used to lots of calories, and sugar from booze. Sweet hot drinks seem to be helping.

2 nights AF for me. Got hubby to turn away a delivery of wine (I had cancelled my subscription months ago), so feeling very virtuous - plus did boot camp tonight, so doubly virtuous.,
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

I've got no more AF days to report as September is proving madly busy with social functions. What is pleasing me is that I definitely know where the stop button is these days. I only had a single, small glass in a restaurant last night. When I got home it had turned chilly so I made a cup of tea!!

cuppa, you are so right to be honest with yourself (and us of course:)). I'd say your drinking sounds very controlled, well done! Sorry to hear things not good but you do sound to be keeping really busy.
