Thanks so much for the lovely welcome (MSE is so friendly), and Heath particularly thanks for the tip about ringing and getting a contact person, that would make it less daunting the first time. I'm usually ok about going to things alone, but not for this. I'll keep reading, and will post when I feel weak. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Went to Boot Camp circuit training, and haven't had any wine, despite there being a half bottle in the fridge. I need to fill my evenings so I break the booze cycle. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

I saw this on a diet site related to binge eating, but thought it was just as relevant to my binge drinking.
The next time you want that drink, sit for a few moments, close your eyes, and remember EXACTLY how the next morning feels.
Remember the horrible feeling, the feeling sick, the being unable to move - all the bad physical responses to over drinking.
Then the next time you get the overwhelming urge to binge, sit down, close your eyes and recall those feelings and sensations. It will help remind you that you really do NOT want to do it.What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -

I'm always touched by the way you quietly offer your suppport and experience to the thread heath. Thank you.:A
DH's birthday yesterday and rather too much bubbly was drunk. Not feeling hungover as such (I did find the stop button and switched to tea) but am conscious that a lack of mindful drinking (and eating!) makes me feel a bit yuk!0 -
Great outdoor exercise session in the sunshine this morning. Had lunch with a lovely lady, but it included a glass of wine. I'd had the taste, so dinner was accompanied by a very large glass while preparing the meal, then shared a bottle with DH. Plus another large glass after dinner. Too many glasses of wine, having a hot flush now. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Good morning everyone.
Just back from holiday yesterday and sad to report that I drank too much wine every night I was away.
However, I am now thankful of my first AF evening in ages and feeling better for it this morning although I didn't sleep well at all! (I think you get used to drunken stupor sleep as opposed to REAL sleep when you are drinking heavily).
Anyway, back into it now so 1 AFD to add for me please.Debt Free Date: November 20170
