    Morning :hello:

I didn't go out last night in the end so I was AF - an AF Friday!! :A I will probably be AF tonight too. Tomorrow I'm going to a birthday dinner but I'm contemplating going AF for that too (work on Monday and my diet) but we'll see...

I haven't lost any weight this week but I'm not really surprised and I was glad to not have put nothing on. Hoping to do better next week so lots of AF nights necessary.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I cut down the booze first, then added in healthy eating and lost 3.5 stone which I've kept off for a year!:j

I was thinking about you yesterday (how weird, as I don't even "know" "you" lol) Anyways, I was thinking that that is so impressive and I must be inspired by you as I really would like to lose more weight by christmas.

Morning all! Hope everyone had a successful day yesterday.

I'm feeling quite pleased with myself as achieved just what I wanted drink-wise, had the four drinks I promised and came in and had sparkling fruit juice with dinner after pouring two cans of beer down the sink.

Bed by 9:30pm, asleep by 10 and woke at 8am after a great nights sleep (despite some mobile party turning up next door at 2:40am )

Actually got plans to get some of those jobs around the house done today (I can never usually be bothered to do anything after a Friday night :o)

So, just wanted to say "Hi!" and "Good Luck for today!".

And Shaggy, could you put me down for...... 6 :o days in the Sept challenge please? My goal for today is to repeat the controlled-ness of yesterday so that I can feel equally a alive tomorrow, and tomorrow, well, who knows, AF???
Smoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general :p
  • Wishing evryone well in achieving their AF targets for September.
    Sobriety delivers everything Alcohol promised.

Alcohol free since May 23rd 2003.:D

Thanks Shaggy, all compliments greatly received!:D Good luck to you with your weightloss, you chalked up a really good number of AF days in August and I know the drinking days weren't crazy either.

I knew there was no way I was going to lose weight and keep up daily drinking so the cutting down had to come first. I still choose to have wine as my 'treat' of empty calories (rather than chocolate or some other addiction;)) but I know that if I'd started my eating plan (Slimming World in my case) and had to cut down at the same time it would have been far too much to cope with.

Good to hear you sounding so bright and positive markman. Apologies if you've told us this before but have you decided for yourself to have these 'four drinks promised' or is it a programme you're signed up to? I remember another poster from way back who had a counsellor who recommended this sort of 'weaning off' process rather than cold turkey. Good luck to you, hope all the jobs are getting done!!
