    Hi Everyone
Pleased that you had a great holiday Shaggy and well done on no weight gain :T:T
    12 AF please Shaggy

Last week i smugly decided that i could be one of those people who could have 1 glass of wine in an evening and stop there. Ha who was i trying to kid. Managed it 1 nite and then failed the following night big style, resulting in going to work with a raging hangover after drinking cheap yukky wine! No more. I wanted to test myself, see if i could be one of those people that i read/hear about who 'enjoy a glass of wine of an evening' However that isnt me, its all or nothing. So back to 'nothing' on a school night and dust down that moderation button for the weekend. Every day is a school day as they say!:rotfl:

    Same here Mackeroo.
When I had one drink, I could never guarantee if I would stop there or carry on drinking. All bets were off.
I didn't have a special stop button for the w/e either....

I tried for years to moderate, and had all the thoughts of "It's the fourth drink that tips me over the edge" & "If I have a really quick one now, then I'll be able to squeeze in another before 7pm" etc

The only safe amount of alcohol I can drink is nothing. If I don't have the first, I cannot get drunk.
Other people can moderate and find control over alcohol. Not me.

I haven't given up drink forever. I am just deciding today not to drink. I can manage one day without a drink.

    Boiling here, and it's ace!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Absolutely no more to add - in fact I have just counted up and realized I have had a drink every night since SATURDAY! That is 4 nights sequentially with booze. How did I fall from grace so quickly? Actually the answer is simple, visitors and the age old "glass of wine with dinner?" I was restrained in so far as we only had the 1 bottle but flipping heck 4 nights on the trot! I will not be drinking tonight and we are away for a couple of days so I am not sure how the alcohol thing is going to go, we shall see. I feel very ashamed having to confess all here, but it is the truth.
My count therefore remains 18 for the month. And if I am good I will get to my target for the month, need to buckle up and sort it out!

Graemecarter & Mackeroo I am so with you both!! Here I am still in bed after a lovely evening sitting out in garden drinking wine with O/H which slipped into the "three bottles" tally! Hungover and repentant with a presentation to do in front of the big chiefs this afternoon! Have done the facebook checks as well and haven't written any "hysterical when !!!!ed" comments on anyones updates!

Well done to both of you!

Hello so as promised I now have 19 AFdays please
I also had threeo drinks today and will have another tonight but am pleased to report I only had 3 SMALL. Glasses of Pimms of the public bar variety rather than the usual several jugs followed by several bottles of champagne something to do with sister having a child and being a responsible adult now so her influence is clearly good.
