Delighted to say I've had an AF Saturday. I needed to claw something back as I've been sitting in the garden with the rose most evenings this week. I reasoned that we don't often get the chance! Only a couple of glasses each evening but I was a bit cros with myself as they were school nights. So tonight I went out but didn't drink.:)

That's 12 AFDs for July please Shaggy, and may I have my
usual target of 10 for August.

Don't be too cross with yourself Maman, it was a couple of glasses not a couple of bottle :D

Nice to see you back MissP :)

Well, busy week over with. Back to normal today. MrR has let himself down a couple of times but it hasn't been too bad.

    Have a good week everyone

  • Hello, can I join you please? My drinking has crept up and up to the point where what I now think is normal would have shocked me a few years ago.
I would like to be AF for at least 4 days a week and drink in moderation on the other days.
Giving up comepletely might also be an option.

    It can be done !,

I used to drink approx a case of 24 x 500ml (Belgian) Stella Artois per weekend, I have now been dry for the last 41 weeks, and can honestly say I dont miss it all and in fact I *may* be dry permanently now.

  • Hello everyone, not been around for a few days so haven't had a chance to read the thread hope everyone is ok.
I only have 2 more AF days to report for a total of 12 please Shaggy so even though I intend to be AF today and tomorrow I won't make my July target. I'm thinking what my August target should be and will let you know.
Even though I don't post very often I am grateful for this thread because it makes me stop and think (it doesn't always stop me but I do think before I drink now).
Weight loss since July 1st 3lbs so another bunus - thank you

Foolishly, I drank too much last night and woke up dehydrated with a headache this morning.:( This hasn't happened for months and it was a salutory lesson on how I don't want to feel ever again!

    Definitely AF tonight.

    13AF for July please Shaggy.

Welcome ThirdTimeLucky, you've come to the right place. I'm one who tries to do exactly what you're planning (AF Mon to Thurs and moderate at weekends) but I do allow myself extra days for special occasions. Good Luck.

Hello everyone, just back from my hols and gettingback into the routine.
I drank pretty much everyday on holiday, maybe just a glass, maybe more, so I need to get back up on the wagon!

Shaggy, can I set my target to 24 please? This gives me a few days at the weekends to have a glass or two.
    Trying to keep in budget.

    Morning :hello:

3 more AFDs to add. I had an AF weekend :A. I'm gonna finish August on 14 (including today hopefully), which given I was on holiday for 2 weeks I'm quite happy with. Today will be my 11th AFD in a row.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
