Oh, i am going shopping this morning and was wondering if anyone could please recommend me some AF drinks (apart from coke/lemonade etc)?Re ; Is it because you want to signify the beginning of the weekend? When I stopped drinking it kind of coincided with a local Waitrose opening. I would treat myself to something small but extra yummy and stupidly extravagent on a Friday as my treat.
365, when I first saw your post Waitrose jumped out at me and I thought 'how extravagant is that?' but then I read on and thought 'Brilliant Idea!'. If you've saved £30+ on wine through the week, what's wrong with having a lovely treat.
Don't know whether you're planning to go to Waitrose cleggie but I can assure you the need to have a glass in hand at all times does pass. Meanwhile, lime & soda is popular. I prefer hot drinks, even if it's hot Ribena, as you tend to sip them rather than knock them back.
Sending you a hug rachel. Please come on and rant or moan or whatever. It's what 'virtual' friends are for!0 -

have you tried the glitter berry j20? it tastes like those pink lips sweets you can buy but it actually glitters and everything. thats what i switched to when i was out in the pub. made me feel like i was still having an extravagant drink.

Good afternoon everyone. I have been at a friends house all day today and was chatting to her a bit about giving up alcohol. She is teetotal, so its lovey to have that support in place, as a few other people i have mentioned it to have all said "why on earth would you want to quit alcohol".
I have also dug some bits and bobs out for tonight:
Face mask
Moisturiser
Body scrub
DVD
Popcorn
Special bubbe bath.
So my plan tonight is to have a nice hot bubble bath, whilst listening to some nice classical music, pamper myself, then snuggle on the sofa with my duvet in my PJ's and watch a DVD!
I have already been thinking about this evening, and the ex has said he will be picking the kids up earlier (5pm instead of 7pm), so i am feeling quite worried about it. BUT the most important thing is that i dont WANT to drink, which is brilliant!!
Thanks for the recommendations of AF drinks for this evening, i think i might buy some J20 and lemonade. I feel the need for something sparkling, so that sounds lovely!
i hope everyone else is OK?0 -
Hello Cleggie - plans for tonight sound lovely.
I had my first wobble of the day.....already
Was supposed to be taking my little ones over to their Dads' this evening and was then going to pop into Tesco to see if I could find something nice for tonight....now they're not going until tomorrow, so I thought - well, I'll drink tonight then.....just like that. Forgot all about AFDs and everything.
Postman came and dropped 'No Big Deal' book through the door - recommended by 365days I think....and I came straight on here to straighten out my head. Saw the clappy hands by my name - thankyou Bearacus.
Head back in focusthink I need a very large poster stating
ALCOHOL IS NOT A TREAT0 -
Crazymum- ALCOHOL IS NOT A TREAT!!! Looking after your body is a treat, being proud of yoursef for not drinking is a treat, pampering your body is a treat, staying AF is a treat.xxx.0

The habit is hard to get out of...I once found myself with my hand around a wine bottle in a shop, months after i'd given up....just automatic. Now there is a whole aisle I never go down, except for value bitter for the slug traps;)
Crazymum- Enjoy the book, hope it helps.
Cleggie- Your night sounds blissful.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Sounds like you've all got some good evenings planned! I'm heading out to a local village to help my mum move house. Not sure if there'll be a celebratory drink tonight or tomorrow night. Hoping it'll be tomorrow as I'm knackered tonight!0
