Thanks for the welcomes!:D
Shaggy, I think I'll go TF for March - ease into it a bit
Tracy, thanks for the myfitnesspal suggestion. I lost my weight originally when I got a Nike+ and joined the gym - monitoring my performance really spurred my on and I lost 2.5 stone. Thing is that I'm still going to the gym as often (ave. 15 miles a week) but I know its the extra beer calories that really hurting me. If can halve my consumption (at least) the weight will go easily enough.
Well, time to hit the treadmill - can't drink beer while running - I find it just goes everywhere!:rotfl:
Have a good day everyone - its meant to be a sunny one in most places.
Mark
Well done Mark!! I really like your sense of humour.!!:A
If you like I'll be your fitness pall.
3 years ago with the help of a personal trainer I lost 3 stone, and was never out of the gym. Then my hip started playing up, I have one of the metal/metal hip replacements. These are the ones that all the recent controversy are about. Doing a lot at the gym became too painful, and I put the weight back on.
Since Christmas I have started swimming and built up to 60 lengths 4/5 times a week. I've drastically cut down my wine consumption, lost 18lbs and feel much better.
On Monday I,m gong to try a mini workout in the gym.
Hope this may help you in your journey.
The support from this thread has really helped me:T
Off digging in the garden, in the sun.
Hugs to everyone!!

Just proved I can do a half marathon - 13.5 miles at the gym today:cool: (normally I stop at 6 miles max). That's 2,100 calories burnt off - now I've just got to try not to drink them all back on tonight:oSmoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general0

Just take it easy Evilsquid and walk when you need to - I very, very, rarely do a full run.
Good luck and enjoy it - there will be lots of others around you no doubt.

Morning :hello:
An AF Saturday in Chez Shaggy.
Have a good one.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Morning all - and what a lovely one here, bright and sunny. Hope you've remembered to put your clocks forward;)
Well, a much lower amount of beer drank last night, even having water with dinner. Slept so much better for it.
Gym again later as the weigh-in was scary.
Have a good day.

Good luck, we all have our own ways of motivating ourselves, and 13.5 miles, wow
Another AF for me, so 24 for March please Shaggy
Have to admit to eating ways too much this week, and last night it did feel like a bit of a alcohol replacement - blame my DS as he had a friend over for a sleep over, they always drive me mad...Oh well, only a few more days left in March to go, I will do it, I will do it, I will do it....
Happy Sunday xx0 -

Mark:THope it went well
thank you!
i did it in 41 mins which works out at the 10km pace i was at last year for the great manchester run so hopefully with a bit of effort i'll be ok for that too in may!
it was horrifically hot though, i was really conscious of making sure i didn't go mad pushing myself too far and getting heatstroke. i had to do walk/run just to get round it. i ran the bits that were on the main roads and had people watching on and walked/died on the hidden backstreets bits :rotfl:
also, last night was AF so one more for me please!0
