  • Hi everyone
Just popping on to report nsd #9 today. My target is in sight...

Yasmin there is a 100 day challenge thread on the board where you pledge not to buy something for 100 days. Mine is toiletries mainly because I'm terrible at that. Have a look over there and maybe pledge not to buy magazines (you could read them online?).

Miss T - I read your previous post too - I think you've done a marvellous job with the debt clearing. You should be proud of yourself! I know, some days you just cant see anything in a positive light no matter what.
Re jamjars - have a look on Freecycle, sometimes folks give them away for free - then you can spend the jamjar money on a wee treat for you;)
In the meantime heres something to cheer you up th_smiley_flowers.gif

Sorry Nargle, couldnt find chickens - will this do?

Red, how exciting! I'm selling a load of stuff on fleabay in the hope of buying one too!
Let me know how you get on when it arrives.

I seem to have stirred up a bit of interesting chat re the Kindle.
I can see both sides as I love books and cds and cant see myself gving them up completely. When I got an Ipod, I "pruned" my collection and kept the CDs I really couldnt bear to part with and sold the rest. With books, I regularly prune them out and give a lot away to CS. I only have the ones I really love as I dont have space anymore to keep a lot.
However, I think the Kindle will be good for the commute to work and also for holidays when I always take about 6 books!
I have listed all my stuff on Fbay and I discovered I have Nectar points I can convert so the £89 is in sight! :j

    Hi Jinty,

I'll certainly keep you informed, although may consider a 3gb one, but going to do some research regarding which one is best for what I need. I hope you get yours soon though and enjoy it.
On a lighter note, I had a spend day today due to having to purchase liquid gold:eek:
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

    £2 savings jar £300:D
Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!

:)Thanks Kerry, sorry I'm chuckling/cringing at the same time as this has brought about memories of this afternoon.... I really struggle with the water too - what on earth are you supposed to do with it all!

Now debating whether my new elec toothbrush (which is charging - hopefully ready for the morning) should come out my Grocery budget (incl toiletries) rather than the "anything else" one ...... oh my, still struggling to get to grips with budgeting!:o

I have my bi-annual appt next week (was due just before xmas but decided to go post-Quality Street season)...I can hardly wait.... And I have no idea what you're supposed to do with all that water, ever tried swallowing with your mouth open...it's tricky (and that prob sounds slightly dodgy :o :rotfl:) The hygenist does put in the bendy suction straw thing but it's usually in the wrong place and just gets stuck to my tongue, and I'm not sure if it's dental etique to move it yourself? :o

Personally I would put the toothbrush under 'anything else' and it's not really a toiletry spend in the sense of shower gel, shampoo etc. I'd put the toothbrush heads under toiletries when you buy them though.

mmmm that sounds a reasonable compromise :) I really wasn't feeling comfortable with the actual brush thing under groceries as it's more an electrical thing ....

Right - hopefully the bed's warm enough now ..... night folks - have a good day tomorrow (I'm on a training day:j)

  • No NSD for me today, been to the cinema tonight :) was £3.50 for the mystery movie so fairly cheap, and the film was really really good so definitely worth it!
I paid Friday's found tenner onto my Dotty P card today, had my new statement when I got home - my balance is now below £200 for the first time in ages, I think every time I got close to that I felt the need to spend on it again.
I got an electric toothbrush a while ago at my dentist's recommendation and it's been worth every penny, I was having a lot of trouble with my gums - they were quite red and sore but now they are v healthy and my dentist is pleased. Which means I don't have to shell out on visits as often :)
Hope everyone has had a good Monday.

    Pink x
