Thanks for the suggestions everyone:beer: I'll probably end up freecycling them I think, as I wasn't planning on doing a carboot. None of the charity shops in my area still take videos otherwise I'd pass them to them. They take up a lot of space... Will have to go through them first and see if there's any I still want - some things are difficult to get on DVD or expensive.

Just letting you and anyone else who has got to the point where they just want rid of stuff without trying to sell them etc i am very happy to try and auction them off on my charity auctions page on facebook. I am also very happy to donate the money to one of the charities i have chosen to support or one of your choice if i can pay the money to them via the internet. I know there are things the charity shops don't take anymore but i think its always worth a try to get a few extra pounds for the charities and to prevent things being put in the bin!

If you search for tropicalfishni4charity you should find the page ok :)

Yet more money to add, lol. Doing pretty well today! :j A few of us are going to an event tomorrow night, a friend has just booked our tickets online (saving money on the door price :money:) and won't accept payment - will buy her a couple of drinks tomorrow, but I would do that anyway so I'm adding the online ticket price of £5.

£8 today to add from an Ebay sale. :)

That means £11 down, £51 to go.
  • Well I 'made' £10 today - saved lots of money by opening a credit card with Lloyds with 18m interest free paying off my other cards :money: and whilst I was there cheekily asked if she could remove any charges - with a result of saving a tenner :j I don't normally count savings as technically I haven't 'made' any money, but this was a deliberate move on my part to 'make' a tenner back so I'm counting this one!

    Hi all,

Has anyone used clothesforcash.com? It is hard to find a place to sell clothes in London (found a few decent places North of England though!)..... The site looks pretty good and they actually collect by Citylink couriers for free which seems pretty good and they pay into paypal. They pay 60p per kilogram... not a lot but every penny helps...

Just to echo what everyone else says, this is a VERY good price. My cousin does this, he has a few units he works from, and he only pays 40p per kilo.

Nothing for me to add today :o

Slow start to the month for me, but adding £5 for today saved on a leaving lunch that I could not attend as had a meeting in work. Not exciting but money is now sat in my savings account and I had a free cheese sandwich instead!

Not had the best start to 2012 - youngest son off earlier in week with vomitting bug and DH in hospital yesterday (sent after visiting GP) for investigations re: head aches and droopy eye. He has been sent home now but has an MRI scan booked just to be on the safe side in a couple of weeks time. So - 2012 can only get better right!!

Have got my ebay listings up to 16 now and have to admit it has been a painful process!! :rotfl:Goal for the weekend is to get 10 more items listed and dig out old gold to send off (thanks for company recommendation x)Which reminds me, also had a tiny ebay sale with a profit of £2.90 so daily total is £7.90. Off to do a bit of swaggers before bed. Hope everyone has a productive day tomorrow. :D

Hope you’re feeling better, BlueCow, and your loved ones too. Xx.

Congrats on winning the shopping @ Morrisons, savvysaver!

And congrats to those who’ve recently had babies. Well done, you. Mwah! And welcome to the world, gorgeous little ones.

Fairyclicks – glad you’re feeling a bit better, hun. That’s something.

Nat21luv – oh thank God your little girl’s OK. Hugs, hugs, hugs to the two of you. Hope you had that wine.

    Salkunh - $10 is about £6.50.

Mayforher – good luck this month!

House of cards – good luck to you too, hun.

If My Pennies Were Pounds – congrats on the postcode lottery win!

Hopless – I can’t offer any advice as I’m not experienced in that area, but I just wanted to say I hope things sort themselves out for you. Take care...

MY MONEY UPDATE: I got £29.38 for writing blog posts. I also made £1.60 from a get-paid-to site called Cashle.

    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Morning all, had a good start to the challenge with £85 to add from various bits and bobs.

My car goes off the road next week (MOT & INSURANCE end) and its really not cost effective for me to renew either, so looks like i'll be selling for scrap.... so i will be selling at the Carboot tomorrow morning as i have a shed full to the roof with Junk :o and only a small window of oppitunity to shift it!!

Hopefully i wont be without a car for too long, but will be looking to down size considerably..the car i have at the moment has been costing me a fortune to run, so i'll be glad to see it go, but will miss the independence it provides for me.

Looks to be a busy weekend moneymaking one way or the other, need to sort out Carboot stuff and load up the car, and have just seen its Free listing this weekend on Ebay...:)
Hope everyone is well and in the swing of things x
