go to control panel, clock, language and region, region and language, check Format is on English, United Kingdom, then check location is on United Kingdom, then keyboards and languages, change keyboards, make sure it says English (United Kingdom) - United Kingdom,

if it doesn't, change the settings until they do on each tab ^^^^

then save everything. Log off and restart.

    should be correct now.

    Hi all,

Has anyone used clothesforcash.com? It is hard to find a place to sell clothes in London (found a few decent places North of England though!)..... The site looks pretty good and they actually collect by Citylink couriers for free which seems pretty good and they pay into paypal. They pay 60p per kilogram... not a lot but every penny helps.... plus they collect from anywhere in the UK.

Anyone had any experience with them? they seem quite straight forward. (I found another one webuyclothes.co.uk but that seems a bit complicated for me.

I really want to give it a go...

I have loads to put on Ebay but I am back to work next week so limited time and I am finding ebay & paypal & postage fees a bit of a joke.

oooohh what to do! lol :cool:

I found one local to me via word of mouth and then they came round and did a leaflet drop.

Mine paid 50p per kilo when I took the clothes to her, and I think they paid less if they collected from you.

think you have found the best one in the London area :D

big gold star for you! twice this week you have found best payers.

Evening all, this thread is moving fast! Thanks for some great ideas I have picked up today, did myself a whizzy spreadsheet at work to track my £10 a day challenge and forgot to email it to my home email account... Its a faff logging into work system remotely but may just have to as really want to update my signature, its up to about £50ish, but I do know to the pence so may edit later! I've spent the afternoon telling my work colleagues about trading in their scrap gold (I haven't got any!) and we think one chap has over £900 worth, so he reckons he's going to have a good sort out this weekend! I've got an old printer and laptop that we think we are going to take to Tesco for the electrical trade in, not much, but wont get much on eBay for them. I've got some ink cartridges to get rid of, an old digital camera to see if we can recycle/cash in and I have another mobile floating around in a drawer somewhere, its amazing what you think of/remember you've got! Mostly i'm just as keen to declutter as I am to make the cash!

I'm not sure who mentioned it (sorry!) but I've had a look at Zapper, has anyone else? I've got loads of books to get rid of, does anyone know what genre goes well on there? They say they accept about 20% of books, but not sure what that relates to!? My wonderful bf has been chopping firewood most of the afternoon so our woodshed is looking much more healthy again, so far this year we haven't had to spend anything out, our neighbours gave us some fence posts to cut up, a friend a pile of pallet wood, we cut down a tree in the garden in the spring and family keep saving us bits and pieces, it all really adds up and its been so nice not to worry about the expense/being cold (we don't have anyother heating other than a log burner) I'm not counting it towards my target as I'd like to just count actual cash in my hand/bank, but it would easily be a £60 saving this month! Anyway, i'll stop rambling now and start getting my eBay mountain prepared!

I traded in a few old textbooks on zapper, was really impressed to get a few quid for them as they are about 7/8 years old! - it didn't accept any of my popular paperbacks though :-( (to the charity shop they go)!

    Evening all,

First update of the month and it's nothing to shout about lol. Here goes:

    £5 Arcadia voucher from mccains
£9.42 in savings account (3.42 was already in there and deposited £6 in change today, much to the annoyance of the cashier :o )

Have a good night all xx
  • Used 30 loyalty points on red spotted hanky - saving another 30p on my train ticket. So that's another little bit to add.
