I've only just stumbled on this challenge and though there are only about 25 weeks left of 2012 I'm going to give it a go! Better to have something extra off than nothing at all.

Hi, I can see me still on here next year :o so don't worry if you are, i'm sure there will be lots of company/support for us

  • Thank you everyone for continuing to post your inspirational stories. Well done dizzydonkey2 on clearing your overdraft early :T its posts like yours that are keeping me going. Don't worry Hope78, you won't be on your own next year, I'll still be here, and the year after and probably the year after that!
Unfortunately I don't think I can find any extra this week, I seem to have spent too much. How I wish now I hadn't wasted £2.75 on a magazine, that could have been my extra payment this week. Never mind though, you live and learn. On a positive note I now only owe £14K+ instead of £15K+. Only a couple of hundred paid off since I started taking my debts seriously but psychologically its very important and at least it's going down and not up like it was previously.
  • A little extra payment of £2.52 today. :)

  • I think the biggest problem for me this week is going to be not using the credit cards rather than finding an extra payment. However, because of this challenge, I cant bear the thought of adding to the debt rather than paying off a bit extra. We do need to eat though.

Happy Friday everyone. Can only manage £6.02 this week as usual bank account skim. May be a bit tougher now as just found out Tax Credit lot have decided I have to pay them back over £400 as was "overpaid" last year. What is the thinking behind overpayments??? Why give it you in the first place if they just want it back..???! After that news, I'm sure I will be bobbing along with PrincessPoor, Hope78 and Betty Crumble next year too (and probably many more after that!).

    Hi dizzy donkey,
that is fantastic!! What an achievement! I see this was your first post too! Roll on 31 July then.
I find coming on here has kept me more accountable and keeps me in the house commenting on here rather than out spending or surfing things to buy on the internet. It keeps me sane especially when I haven't got any money to pay off anything with - that's the bit I'm finding hardest. Did you use on line banking? I haven't been and I notice that people on here who do seem to pay off things more quickly - well that's my perception anyway.
  • well folks im about to offer everyone payments in blood as im sick of 1 step forward 10 back! crashed the car yesterday (everyone sort of ok, little one hurt her hip with the seatbelt but fine in spirit, for that i'm thankful) got to find £400 excess and bus fares as the car is not driveable, so fed up. BUT, I am going to go a make a payment on something and come back and post because if i dont i will just give in and even though ive spilled my guts on here i don't want to drag anyone else down. back in a mo.
