Oooh the responsibility of looking after other people's beloved pets is getting to me....I've turned into a Cat Policewoman, there are sooooo many cats in the street and one particular Tom has a real dislike of the chap I'm "cat-sitting" - he's obviously sussed out the routine that we've gotten into and lies in wait to ambush him - poor thing - not only is he missing his family but is getting bullied and jumped on when I'm not looking.
After losing a bit I've tried to keep on on track, so today's meals =
B - Greek Yoghurt, raspberries, drizzle of honey
L - Half an Avocado mashed on 2 slices of toasted crusty bread
D - Bolognaise, small portion of pasta, large portion green beansConfession time as I've been caught out by YKWYA!!!
What?? Me know understand!!Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £42.190 -
Haven't had a chance to read all the posts...1/2lb off this week for me.
Ended up going to Sainsbury's cafe for tea tonight, I had lasagne, chips & garlic bread. DD ate for free. Not very low fat or calorie, but DH and DS wanted to eat out and it was good value and tasted nice0 -
I think you may be right OG, I just remember how much I hated them :rotfl:My parents still buy one now and again, gluttons for punishment :rotfl:
I'm in the south, but have no need of toblerone...I have got my chocolate cravings well under control again, after that terrible blip at the beginning of this challenge...no more popping candy chocolate!!!
Yes, definitely plain loaves! We buy them once a week, yummy toasted with loads of butter0 -
Hello everyone!
I am returned from the beautiful U S of Aas you can tell since I am posting at 3.30am I am a tad jet lagged.
We were unfortunately floored half way through the holiday by a nasty stomach bug. Poor husband was incredibly ill for about 24 hours (second half of our time in Vegas - confined to the room - such a shame!) and I thought I wasn't as bad as him as I didn't get that period of intense illness....but then my dicky tummy lasted the next week, the rest of the holidayLuckily it wasn't bad enough to spoil our enjoyment, but it was bad enough that I think for the first time in my life I have managed a fortnight in America and not gained weight!!
Back to work on Monday. Had contact from my line manager over the holiday as a colleague has been signed off long term sick so they need me to increase my contract. It means I have some classes that I wasn't prepared for so the next couple of weeks are going to be a bit tough while I get to grips with the changed timetable.
KW, please could you remove me from the current challenge? With only a few weeks left I know I am not going to be able to do very much. I would rather pootle along, continuing to post of course, and then begin the next challenge afresh and focused! For now it is more important than ever - as it is time to prepare my body for the next big adventure! I'm sure you can guess what that is, me being a newly wed and all.....scared and excited at the same time but DEFINITELY need to lose weight first to give us the best chance.
Anyway, I am utterly starving hungry as it is dinner time by my body clock. I had no food whatsoever on the plane as they messed up and their 'vegan' meal contained milk, which obviously it is not meant to....and which could have caused all sorts of problems if I had not realised, had eaten it and they had to ground the plane due to passenger with a severe allergic reaction! So I had nothing whatsoever for around 12 hours. What is appropriate to eat at 3.45am?! If I could cook one without waking up hubby, who is much better at sleeping through jet lag than me, I'd be in the market for a huge roast dinner or similar! :rotfl: will try to find as healthy a snack as possible...
Hope everyone is well. Looking forward to catching up!0 -
-2lb for me this week:D
Decided to get off my bum and go for a walk yesterday - I downloaded an app for my phone which measures your distance, speed etc. and set off. Got knackered very quickly, turned round and went home - my phone said I had managed just 1/2 mile:o:o:o
So I turned round and did the same walk again to make it up to a mile! Go me! Wow, was I a nasty, sweaty mess that collapsed in a heap when I got home!:o
OK, so I know that a mile doesn't sound like much, but when you are as unfit as I am and are carrying almost another person around with you in excess weight........well, I am chuffed to bits I got as far as a mile! I'm planning on getting out to walk every day that I can, upping the distance a tiny bit each day - even a few steps extra will build up over time. Also going to dig out the Wii fit that is hiding somewhere under the sofa.
B - slice toast and dry fried mushrooms
L - slice bread, mackerel and a huge salad
D - potatoes, quorn burger and spring greens with runner beans
S - banana, apple, handful grapes and 4 brazil nutsJan NSD 4/15
2015 Pay £7000 Off Debt No. 107 £566.51/£70000 -
Good Morning chums,

YKWYA -You Know Who You Are
I hate when my neighbour asks me to look after her cat, he's a real Jekyll and Hyde character. Lets me stroke him at feeding time then turns on me at going out time. No matter how gentle/persuasive I am, I have the scars to prove it!
Welcome back daisiegg, so sorry to hear about the accident, illness, and the mess-up with your meal on the plane, but hope you brought back some good memories!
Congratulations TA, well done on your walk, that's one big achievement. We all have to start somewhere and a mile is a better effort than I could manage :T
B - F&F, ss milk
D - Duck salad with leftover bits from last night's stir-fry.
T - 3 crackerbread with vegemite, cheese/tomato, marmalade
S - trying not to have any today
E - 1x10 mins done, more as and when, off to the tip with a boot-load of allsorts just now.
Have a sunny day0 -
oh daisiegg, what a shame you both got ill on holiday! Not what you had planned at all
I think you're doing the right thing planning to start afresh on the next challenge, sometimes there's just too many things going on in life to manage them all, and somethings got to go on the backburner.
(Of course, I hope you realise that every time you mention the slightest ache, pain, feeling under the weather, anything odd at all...we're going to be jumping to conclusions, I promise to keep my mouth firmly shut
)

Kudos to you for turning round and doing the walk again :T, that's determination!
When I started walking a few years ago at my highest weight, I used to wait until it was dark to go out, so people wouldn't see me struggling :rotfl:,at first I only did 15/20 minutes at a time. I didn't even increase my steps every day, maybe every week or two...as each walk got easier to manage, I'd make it a bit longer. I got to the stage where I was doing around 3 miles in my job every morning, and then another 3/4 miles in a walk in the evening. Now that my back has been injured again, I'm back to square one, but I really miss walking, so am trying again.
I'm sure if you keep going out nearly every day, you'll soon build up your fitness, and that first mile won't be hard at all...and it's a good mood lifter as well, even in bad weather...there were days in the winter where the best thing about my walk was getting home and getting the wet clothes off, it really made me appreciate my warm home
Have you got a pedometer? Seeing the steps mount up is encouraging...you could note them in a diary, and then you could see your progress.
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Morning All
Sunny morning here but a decided drop in temp. Other than my cat-sitting duties and some fly-lady stuff I haven’t decided what to do with myself today but it will definitely be something outside as it would be such a shame to waste this lovely sunshine.
Meals today =
B – Half an avocado spread on toast
L – Green soup, hm cheese scone
D – Bacon & Leek Quiche, cauli cheese, carrots
Oh dear a bit heavy of the carbs so may not be able to treat myself to a glass or two of wine tonight – will have to go check on mfp.Yes, definitely plain loaves! We buy them once a week, yummy toasted with loads of butter
Oh I remember these, there always used to be one really thick heel which was great toasted and slathered with syrup - always caused fights in our house to see who could get to it firstYKWYA -You Know Who You Are

This chap is a delight to look after, the most laid-back cat I've ever come across and I'm getting quite attached to him.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Ok sorry for absence, youngest had fever for unknown reason, helping set up a charity ball so had meetings with venues etc, getting eldest ready for starting primary school next Thursday and also received a handful of orders (work from home crafting, quilting, toy making) which meant fabric SHOPPING which I'm a bit of a sucker for! As well as having day with whole family at dino adventure park for bank holiday lots of walking :-) -2.5lbs this week was hoping for nice round 3 but hey it's a loss so yey.
Sorry to hear you were unwell for your trip Daisyegg hope jet lag goes soon.
Well done for the walk I used to love taking my mums dog for a walk when still lived at home looking forward to the kids getting a bit older so we can start up again properly as we live by the beach and country side.0
