Hi maddywaddy
Enjoy the heat if you've still got it
ETA - sparrer...melanzane parmigiana, wow! in our house aubergine bake would be considered posh :rotfl:
ellie according to the forecast last night this amazing weather may be with us til the end of the month :T
Re aubergine bake, the aubergine was one of @ldi's at 69p, I already had a mozarella from lidl for 40p, added some tomato and a bit o' garlic, shoved it t'oven til it looked done and got enough for 3 meals with some salad. Dead posh, innit?
Mollie I find if I write my menu's down at the beginning of the day I stick to it. It helps that I don't go down the biscuit/snacks aisles in the sm, although I do have a struggle keeping away from ice cream! I also have a photo on my fridge door of me at my biggest, I look grotesque so it does make me think what I'm going there for. hth0 -

sparrer ...it's so dull here today (Scotland) that I'm preparing to rush out to the washing line if the rain starts! Hopefully the sun will come back. I've relations visiting from Australia in August, would have been nice if it was hot then, but looks like it might be past by then...would be nice to have a tan to compete with their all year round brown-ness :rotfl:
Re aubergine bake...Norris from Corrie was talking about it this lunchtime, so maybe it's not that posh :rotfl:

Anyone got any favourite healthy meals/reciepes to share?
One recipe that we've grown to love that is healthy is Thai Style Chicken cakes.
Can't claim them as my own as I came by the recipe on SW and adapted but they're delish.
Thai Style Chicken cakes.
Serves 4
2-3 chicken breasts
1 chilli (chopped)
1 med onion ( " )
2 cloves garlic ( ")
zest and juice of a lime
1" grated fresh ginger
1 tbsp ground coriander
s & p
The whole lot goes in the food pro and pulse until mixed finely. Then I put large spoonfuls in a very non stick pan to dry fry. I use my trusted Tefal pan as I need no oil with that.
They are lovely with salad, very fresh tasting.
I've just been given a box of chocolates from one of those chocolate tasting clubs. ARghhh eaten 6. :mad:AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Really struggling and very fed up.
Thinking of joining WW ers as I just cannot get to grips. I need inspiration and advice please?
Molly41 I have been struggling and fed up for the last 6 months ... I joined sw and have paid £115 and put 12lb onIt really hasn't disciplined me at all and now I feel I have wasted money and 6 months
I followed the plan for a week lost weight and then had a week off and gained it again
I am going back to basics following the rule eat less move more ... It isn't for everyone by I am using my fitness pal to count calories and track my eating as well as my exercise - what I understand now is that it is me that needs to discipline myself no one else can do it for me.
That said I have previously lost weight with ww ... I find their products very good to use as it counts your points for you however I really struggled when they changed their points system and I quickly got bored of trying to work out how many points everyday foods had.
I would try and look at why you want to lose weight and keep something in the kitchen to keep you motivated - good luck.SW member: 09/01/2014

Many thanks for the good wishes.
I need to lose 7lbs before 1st September so there is a pang of desperation. I will have a real go this week and then if still struggling might try WW next week xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Molly, I'm not saying I recommend this approach because I haven't tried it myself, but my friend watched a TV programme about a juice diet last week and decided to try it.
I texted her today and she said she had lost 4 lbs in 4 days...she doesn't have a juicer, and is buying it from supermarket until she sees if she likes the diet.
Obviously it's not an eating plan for life, but if I don't lose anything this week (which seems likely) I'm considering having veg juice maybe for lunch, I don't know if I could manage all 3 meals as juice. Just as a bit of a kick start.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately I have to eat regularly as i take some very strong meds that eat away at your tummy if not full:cool:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Thanks for that it really helped, I added a few more calories just in case, and I still managed to come in (just) under my allowance!
So far this week I've managed to keep within my calorie allowance each day, and have been using my exercise bike quite a lot, I'm determined to get below 11 stone by Friday!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Eeeeeeeeeeeeee, I turn around twice, and there's all these newbies  Lovely to see you all.
I'm getting ready for hols at the weekend, so rushing around like a whirling dervish to get everything done! You know the thing - it's as if the house has never been cleaned, or the beds changed, or the freezer de-frosted, ever :rotfl:and they all absolutely must be done right now before we go on holiday, so that it's all spick and span for when we get back! I'll be ready to collapse by the end of the week at this rate :rotfl: So I'm counting all this as my exercise for the week!
So today has been -
I hung out the sheets from our bed which got washed yesterday, but ran out of day to get them dried outside
Emptied the kitchen freezer into the garage freezer so I could defrost the kitchen one then a trip to the asthma nurse - all ok but she wants to check cholesterol so have to back on Friday before workto have fasting bloods done
Shopping at MrA's
Met up with DH, DD2 and Mam and Dad for more other shopping and a snack
Haircut
Made teas/dinners whatever you want to call them lol
Out to church
Put freezer food back where they should be
Suppers
Phew
PS - Mollie - We're all in this together - there's always someone around to talk to, so don't get too downhearted. Just start another day and tell yourself it will be different and it will work. It doesn't matter how long it takes, we'll get there in the end.2025 Fashion on the ration
