Really struggling and very fed up.
Thinking of joining WW ers as I just cannot get to grips. I need inspiration and advice please?I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hi all, and welcome to the newbies and prodigal daughters
no fatted calves here though, better be good...
Well I had a lovely weekend but I can't even begin to write down all I ate. On Saturday we went down to Canary Wharf for shopping and lunch (husband had to take a suit to be adjusted to a shop there so we made an outing of it). Lovely lunch in the sunshine and we just had 'picky bits' in the evening.
Sunday I went to Magic Summer Livemusic event down in Surrey. It was fab, and had amazing street food of many varieties
I did have to sample a few different things and have a couple of glasses of prosecco
Then Monday, I had pesky work, but in the evening some of my colleagues and I went to see Much Ado About Nothing in one of the college gardens in Cambridge as part of their outdoor Shakespeare season. We took a picnic for which I made sausage rolls and blueberry and lemon loaf cake. So I ate a couple of mini sausage rolls, ummmm, a chicken drumstick, half a stuffed vine leaf, a smoked salmon bagel, strawberries, cake, prosecco and Pimmsas dinner though all added up it probably didn't come to much more than a normal evening meal, as they were all tiny picky bits.
So today I MUST get back on the straight and narrow as a sneaky weigh in this morning indicates I may be in for a talking-to from TG come Friday!
So today's plan...
B - tea, piece of lemon blueberry loaf cake:o I know!!! It just fell into my mouth. Have put the rest in the freezer now to avoid temptation.
L - will have some fruit, possibly as is or possible made into a smoothie
D - small jacket potato, tuna, salad
No snacks....NO alcohol....can I do it?!
Does anyone have any suggestions for calorie burning exercise I could do that doesn't impact my feet? The recently-healed broken foot is still really painful and the doctor said I shouldn't be exercising in it. But I do feel I would like to do something. So far all I can think of is squats and sit ups. Any ideas?0 -

Aww, Molly, I think we all know the feeling
Have you thought about why you want to lose weight? Did you write it down a few pages back when people were declaring their reasons to lose weight? If you did, why not read it back to remind yourself. If you didn't, why not write out all your reasons.
Is it worth trying a period of calorie counting, if you don't already? People on here say myfitnesspal is good and it's free.
I know exactly how you feel as I am getting absolutely no where at the moment and there is the very real possibility I am going to be a fat lump on holiday at the end of August. It feels rubbish but sometimes it is SO DIFFICULT! It would be great to be one of those people who could take or leave food, wouldn't it?!
Remember we are all here if you need a moan, it's good to talk things through and we are all in the same boat!0 -
Sorry you're feeling down Molly. Good suggestions by daisiegg. I'm flipping back a few pages to remind myself what I wrote, too.
I would have a cheek offering advice or inspiration as I'm quite sure I'll be the heaviest on here but I have learnt that support is essential in real life or from online groups, but maybe WW would help and could fit well with OS weightloss, too.
Do you know what your 'triggers' are? Mine are when stressed with family worries and when over-tired definitely but can be boredom, too.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Do you think it might be a good idea to get your ankle checked out?
Also does it hurt the back of your leg when you walk on it?
Does the swelling go down at night?
Might be worth a quick trip to GP or ring NHS Direct or whatever guise it is going under now?
Thank you for your concern molly, I detect medical knowledge there
The swelling doesn't go down at night, but it's not painful now, although it was on Friday. I think I have a bit of a weak ankle as I've gone over on it a few times in the past, and done a lot more damage than what I have this time. The slightest little coggle on an uneven surface, and it's swelling up again! I would feel I was wasting GPs time, I'll keep an eye on it though, and if it doesn't improve will reconsider.Really struggling and very fed up.

I think a lot of us have felt like this, you have my sympathies, even if I have no bright ideas!
I'm frustrated too that I'm having a fat summer, when I'd planned to have lost more by now.
How about posting your food on here every day? I know it *sometimes* makes me think twice, and once I've posted in the evening, that's it, no more can be eaten, because I'd have to come back and change it!
I also like daisieggs idea of writing it all down, maybe even keeping a journal to encourage you and track how you're doing. In the past I've written a list of all the occasions and outtings coming up, and all the things I expect to be happening which would be better if I was slimmer (even little things like hospital visit, meeting people who haven't seen me since the weight increase, holidays, big decorating projects, school reunion ) anything which would be better slimmer, and I read it often, and it helped to remind me.
I've never tried ww, but if you think it will help, try it out.
And keep posting here!
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Forgot to post my food for today. That's all I need, not planning my food, to sabotage my wi Thursday!
So today I'm having-

Watermelon
Banana
Lrg lamb chop with green salad
mint sauce
6 ritz with sour cream and chive dip
Now that's not the healthiest menu again but I'm sorting my menu plans at the mo so it will have to do. Looking forward to it anyway.I can do better, you wait and see.
