Hi everyone....I want to join in on this thread.
1.5 years ago I lost just over 2 stone, I was doing well until a couple of days before Xmas got on the scales yesterday and bang I've put on 8lbs!!!! It scares me I was going back to my old ways so here I am.
We've had two bottles of baileys a bottle of Tia Maria and 6 bottles of wine over Xmas!
Yesterday I downloaded divina's fitness app in my iPhone for free and paid extra to have a training program, I did a workout yesterday lasting 30 mins and boy do I ache today!
I also will be getting back into Zumba on our Xbox kinect, I am pretty busy and ATM can't afford gym membership because we are saving as much as we can to buy a house and get out of this pokey flat!
So I'm hoping to be active at least 4 times a week for a minimum of 30 mins a session.
I won't be calorie counting as I didn't before and I found it harder to stay focused when I tried this.
My tactic which worked last time was " think before it goes in my gob" lol and cut down on carbs.
Breakfast abit naughty but sometimes I can't eat breakfast or il be the opposite so il have some bacon, sausages griddled on the George foreman with a poached egg chopped toms and one slice of toast.
Soup every lunch and a slice of bread n marg.
Dinner what ever I fancy but not over filling my plate or having seconds later.
I try not to snack , and I try to find skinny recipes to go with my menu plans over the Internet, I write them down and then keep them inn folder in the kitchen.
If I get hungry having another glass of squash (I hate water)
Well I'm officially back on the wagon! Good luck everyone!!!!!Ds2 born 3/4/12 8lbs 8.5:j
Ds1 born 28/4/07 9lb 8 :j
Frugal, thrifty, tight mum & wife and proud of it lol

Morning, as predicted legs are a bit stiff this am, so dog walk was (sadly no slower, he just gets on a mission for breakfast does Doglet) but 5 mins shorter (missed the last square off) but I did do some yoga stretches when I got back home in an attempt to ward off the DOMS. Knee stood up to the (unusual) exercise well I - no pain or bizarre clicking in it but the problem I have is the threat of sore shins, even with new trainers and so on still seems to be after a week of regular running I get these. I am not sure with the amount of running and impact stuff in circuits that I can withstand a weekly dose of this. Might be a once a month session just for some variety. So back to cycling and cross trainer for me I think - and some swimming. Not done that for over a year since I had my eyes lasered - bizarre isn't it I had the eyes done to improve ability to see when doing such things but then got all meh about it.
Being Friday the kitchen at work is currently adrift in baked goods - would you credit the gannets have scoffed all the chocolates, all except 6 of the sweeties and about 8 biscuits!!! There are only 12 of them and these were full on 02Jan!!!Start info Dec11

lobbyludd - I found the recipe over on sparkpeople.com and weighed out the ingredients while I was making it. It calls for whole meal flour, which I am out of, so I used white. They still turned out wonderful and moist and just the right amount of sweet.
For anyone interested, these come out to be 74.6 calories each, depending on the size of your muffin tins. Mine are small, so I ended up with 17 muffins!
Cinnamon Applesauce Oatmeal Muffins
Recipe courtesy of SparkPeople
1 cup (90 g) old fashion rolled oats (not instant)
1 cup (236 ml) milk - I used skimmed
1 cup (135 g) wholemeal flour (plain flour works as well)
1/2 cup (85 g) brown sugar
1/2 cup (118 ml) unsweetened applesauce
1 egg
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. white sugar
raisins or nuts (optional)
Soak the oats in milk for about one hour.
Preheat the oven to 400F/205C/gas mark 6.
Grease muffin tin.
Combine the oat mixture with the applesauce, brown sugar, and egg, and mix until combined.
In a separate bowl measure and whisk the dry ingredients together.
Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until just combined. Add nuts or raisins if desired.
Do not over mix the batter or the muffins will be tough. Spoon muffin mixture into muffin pan.
Combine the cinnamon and sugar and top each muffin with some of the mixture.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until done.
Remove from pan, cool and enjoy.
These can be frozen and reheated in the microwave for a quick breakfast.
*The cinnamon can be mixed in with the dry ingredients and the white sugar may be omitted if desired.
I left out the white sugar and mixed my cinnamon in with the dry ingredients. I used a medium sized egg (the basic cheap ones), plain white flour, and did not add any nuts or dried fruit. I also make my own applesauce.
For my applesauce, find some cheap apples - I used Jonagold (they were £1/kg). Peel the apples if you wish, then slice all you can off of the core. Plop the apple "meat" into the slow cooker and add about 100 ml or so of water. Turn it on high and leave it for a while. I started checking on it every half hour at the 1 1/2 hour mark. Once everything is squishy, it's done. Leave as is, mash with a potato masher, or for really smooth applesauce, blend in the blender. Tastes wonderful, especially with a bit of cinnamon, no added sugar, and much cheaper than those tiny jars in the stores!0 -
This is the first time I have been in this challenge so still not sure how it goes but weighed myself today and have lost 3lb this week which is not bad considering we are still finishing off the choccies left from Christmas.
This takes me down to 13st 5 and now I am only 3 st away from a healthy BMII am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Just hopped on the scales before, down from 100kg to 90kg. Pretty happy because in that time I've also got more toned and muscly
(Stats: 26 year old male, 5'11)
For those interested in my technique..
1) SNACKS - Swap out chocolate, cake and crisps, fruit juice, fizzy drinks
2) SNACKS - Swap in cottage cheese, tuna, fruit, skim milk
3) Gallon of water a day
4) Instead of chips, salad leaves and brown bread
5) Generally buy "low fat" things.. some things are amazing, e.g. Tesco "Lighter than Light" mayonnaise is only 14calories per teaspoon!
6) 30 mins running/day, 30 min aerobics (bodyweight exercises)
7) Ditch the car and bus, walk/cycle if possible
It's great because I eat LOADS of good stuff.. loads of fruit, loads of veg, loads of cereals, loads of chicken, etc. It doesn't feel like a diet at all, more like a permanent lifestyle change. I could have easily lost more but I decided to limit it because I didn't want to lose too fast.
But you keep telling everyone that you're living on the proverbial 'breadline'
Which head do you have on at the moment?
Rich middle aged simmed or poor student simmed? :rotfl:0 -
Morning everyone.
Weighed myself this morning, ooooohhhh deeeaarrr!!! Back to my heaviest ever weight, I think this is the third time I've lost it all and then gone back up
This will be the hardest time yet, cos my back hurts too much to really exercise, only short strolls at the moment. I'm VERY impressed with some of your exercising, well done!
So starting today, no more xmas goodies, and as camNolliesMUMMY said - I will think before I put it in my gob!
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
