For all of the new MFP users.....

Just out of interest how many cals are you aiming for each day?

I'm not a new user, but my aim is for 1540 calories per day. Plus those I earn with exercise. What about you?

Don't know if this would help anyone else or not, but I ended up getting DH to put all of the sweets, chocolate syrup, golden syrup, etc. on top of the cabinets. I'm short, don't have a step stool/step ladder, and I don't trust the kitchen chairs to stand in. This means, I cannot reach the sweets any longer! Makes me focus on eating what I can see (and reach), which at the moment is oranges and a banana!

It would help enormously as I'm only 5 feet tall. When can I borrow him?:rotfl:

It's telling me to eat 1600 calories a day but (apart from today) I haven't really been close to that.

I tend to be around the 1200-300 calories.

*hugs* Remember that tomorrow is a new day! :)

Do you have a slow cooker and/or a freezer?

If you have a trustworthy slow cooker, maybe you could make something in it that would be ready when you walked in the door.

If you have a freezer, pre-make casseroles, lasagne, bakes, etc and freeze in the pan. Either use cheap aluminium disposable pans or, once the item is frozen, gently pop it out of the baking dish and bag or wrap to store in the freezer. Take it out in the morning, stick it back into the baking dish and place it in the fridge to thaw, then cook when you get home, or bake it from frozen.

    Hope this helps! :)

Oh no!!! No good for your waistline or your pocket!

What job do you do? Is there only you to cook for or OH/kids?
What do you like to eat?

We can help you from there.

I work fulltime as a teacher and cook for the 4 of us so I meal plan, shop accordingly and am mega-organised! So I know how hard it can be!

1260 a day for me. That seems ok to me, though I found the food diary difficult to use. I will probably go old school and use a calculator and notebook to record my calorie intake.
