WW- Im really really struggling too

I think it because I dont really NEED to lose anymore weight I just want to hence my clothes fit and I look alright etc

That's exactly my problem too - I am a comfortable size 10 now (the odd 8 fits sometimes), and I feel like the hard work is done. Then of course I think "ooooh I can treat myself" and instead of being like a normal person and having something small or 1 bar of chocolate I go overboard and have a big bag of crisps or a whole bag of Revels.....thats about 500-700 cals in one go!

Giving myself a bit of a talking to has helped though - just had a bath and think I look a bit bloated and that has been enough to give me a kick up the behind to at least have a good lunch and not go bonkers (again!).

    So....
breakfast - nutty nature valley bar (148 cals and very nice)
lunch - 4 reduced fat crackers (128 cals), 2 laughing cow lights (52 cals), most of a packet of quorn ham (100 cals)

Not sure about tea yet but I'm thinking a jacket spud and beans as I'm going out and need something quick.

Exercise - have walked the dog briskly this morning for about 20 mins and will do a 45 min walk this afternoon.

    Sorry for all the moaning:o

    I need a project.

And so I've found one! (Stolen from myfitnesspal).
Its November tomorrow and I've decided that I'm setting myself a challenge - to run and walk a minimum 100 km in November.
Thats approx 60 miles. Sounds like loads but if you break it down to a day at a time its only just over 2 miles a day. I may even up it a bit to make it a bit more challenging.
If I'm making the effort to do this I'll hopefully be less inclined to scoff rubbish (today has been fine so far, feel like I've taken myself in hand a bit with a stern talking to!).

    So here goes ...

I'll update daily and see how quickly I can get there!
  • I've had the children at a halloween craft and disco for 4 hours. I am confessing to you that I've had a snicker bar. I neeeeeeeeded it.

Back to the plan now I@m home though. All home cooked food.

  • No idea where the time has gone today although I do feel that I got loads done. I was up early and because it was such a fine morning got my bedding washed and out before taking a brisk walk to the supermarket – decided to try making my own jerk seasoning and found I didn’t have any cinnamon

A friend dropped in for lunch and I don’t think she was too impressed when all she got served up was a bowl of soup & toast then offered any amount of fruit she wanted :rotfl:

B – Yoghurt and pureed pineapple
L – Parsnip Soup, slice of toast, Banana
D – Turkey Meatballs, stir-fry pineapple rice, green beans
I think eating that potato at 8.30 helps keep hunger away. (i'll add in my sig later why I'm doing it so I don't need to explain each time why I eat a plain baked pot before bed)

When I read it in your first post I thought you were eating a raw potato   before bedtime. I have heard of people eating raw onions before bed to get rid of a cold - havent tried it myself _pale_

  • I make sure I have protein 3 times a day. The protein contains tryptophan, an amino acid that makes serotonin. Because I'm prone to bouts of depression and anxiety I like to manage my levels of serotonin myself without medication. The pure carbohydrate of the baked potato before bed triggers an insulin response which helps the amino acid (tryptophan) from the blood to the brain of a night therefore helping my moods and ability to cope in life. This is just what I do, It's not medical advice or nutritional advice.

I just wanted to explain why I have that baked potato on an evening. There's a book called potatoes not prozac if anyone would like to read more or the website radiantrecovery.com contains some info too.

Anyone free to give me a boot?
Consider yourself booted! Can you give me a boot now please?:p I'm dreading the weigh in on Friday!

Also I'll be eating a potato at bedtime as per Potatoes Not Prozac. I'm finding it helps my serotonin levels.

 Hello bettycrumble. I've read the book as well, and I try to follow the advice as is helps me too.

:wave:Hello Coxy - good to see you here.

Oh, god, another disastrous day here! I am beginning to sound like a broken record. Remember I was just getting over that really nasty cold? Well, it has turned into an inner ear infection and I woke up this morning with severe, debilitating vertigo...literally unable to sit or stand upright, and vomiting every time I tried to move. Had the doctor out who diagnosed labyrinthitis, which I have had before, and he gave me some medicine which is already starting to work - I can sit up now and stand up if I am holding on to something!

Anyway, had my grandparents round taking care of me most of the day and they have fed me (once the medicine kicked in and the nausea started to abate) 3 cream crackers, lots of lemonade (their go to cure for what ails you), a tomato sandwich (1 slice bread), a chocolate spread sandwich (with the other slice), and then this afternoon some plain pasta as I was craving it...and OH is sorting out dinner as I can't, and he doesn't cook, so it will be takeaway! Argh!

Monday and Tuesday were fine this week after a bad weekend, but if I am laid up for the next couple of days, I am sure to gain this week :( and I only just managed a STS last week by the skin of my teeth!

I also had loads to do today and I am feeling thoroughly, hugely fed up. I have only lost a pathetic 3lbs so far on this challenge. I really could cry.

I can't always have a bl**dy excuse though! I bet you didn't lost 20lbs by not being hard on yourself :p

I know there is nothing I can do to change this or could have done to prevent it happening but it is sooooooooo frustrating.

Also...is anyone else starting to feel it's the beginning of the slippery slope to festive season binging? We have OH's daughter coming to stay this weekend and we're doing a special bonfire night meal and everything,..and it feels like it's the beginning of the whole festive season which is pretty scary diet wise!
