Hi Folks , back from my hols and ready to climb aboard the weight loss wagon again. Due to overindulgence of Rose Wine, the fantastic dining room buffet and a Tiramisu to die for as well as a bit more lazing by the pool than I should, I’ve managed to put on 3lbs.
Although I will say, even though I didn’t reach my target weight, I felt particularly good about the shape I’m in compared to some people exposing all their wobbly bits around the pool – in some cases I felt practically “twiggy-like”
I have however decided to up my exercise regime in a desperate attempt to tone up certain areas - some of you ladies of a certain age will be able to relate to – along with the bingo wings I need to work on that bit at the top of my inner thighs – you know the bit I mean!!
Thankfully I stocked up the freezer with healthy foods before I went on holiday so today’s meal plan should hopefully get me back on track
B – Boiled Egg, Oatcake
L – Pea, Broad Bean & Mint Soup, Bread Roll
D – Chorizo & Mixed Bean Casserole, Broccoli & Courgettes.
S – banana, orange.
Like a couple of you I have also had a problem with toothache and will be on the phone to the dentist tomorrow - it meant I was on a softer diet than normal - but didn't appear to stop me putting on weight :rotfl:Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Sept Grocery spends = £304.88
Oct - Grocery spends = £ 16.590 -
Hi everyone,
Please can I join in? I have been calorie counting for the last few weeks and had lost 6lbs as at Friday morning and then I managed to talk DH into having a curry take away on Friday night. This morning the dreaded scales show I have gained 1.5lbs
I have Crohns Disease which means that I am unable to eat much fibre, fruit or veg so dieting is a bit of a nightmare, but I am getting there. On January 1st I was my heaviest ever – 12st 10lbs and Friday morning I weighed 12st exactly.
I am trying hard to fit in a little exercise most days, even if it is just a 20 minute walk with DH after tea in the evenings. I did, however, do Step 1 of Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred, couldn’t keep up at all, and have had trouble walking/holding up my arms since
So my goal this week is to stick to my calorie limit and attempt Jillian’s Shred again (once the pain has stopped :rotfl:).
Welcome! (Though I'm new myself so not sure it's my place to welcome you!)
I have the 30 Day Shred DVD too...isn't it HARD!!! I also have a treadmill and it is much easier to walk for an hour on that than it is to do the shred.....so my resolution this week is to try and do the shred 3 times! See how we go.....!0 -

Hi all
Came back from Italy (would not call it a holiday - families, who'd hav them? GRRRRR) and a mix of excellent food, wine and excessive stress meant lots of food and booze. Result: put 5 Kg on.
Am now 83 Kg (take or leave a few grammes) and need to take myself back down to under 80Kg, then take it from there.
I was low-carbing in the past and it worked well but am a bit concerned about having too much dairy, as I am almost vegetarian, so I am planning to eat low-ish carb but with pulses and a small amount of wholegrain.
Hope that your encouraging posts will see me back on the straight and narrow, especially narrow (in the hips department!). Thank you! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
