As you have a lot of weight to lose your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) will be quite high - what you need just to keep your body running. If you're a long way below it your body's systems can go into a sort of panic mode where they try desperately to hang on to every calorie as they think you're starving.
Have you tried entering your details on a site like MFP to get a personalised calorie intake set? My total guidleline calories is about 2300 (5'8", 15st-ish), and then I cut back by 500/day to lose 1lb a week etc. When I started at a stone heavier, my total was about 2500.
I am on calorie count and apparently I should have 2000 calories but I physically cannot eat that much, if I try to I barf it back up (sorry TMI), because I was told for years that I was overweight because I overweight I actually got to the stage where I ate less than 500 calories a day, I have fought to get to the stage where I eat three times a day and over 1000 calories.

Could you gradually up it by 100 calories a week rather than trying to eat more all in one go? Or try using higher calorie alternatives but keeping portions the same - you can cut back to lower cal versions once your calorie requirements come down?Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

I now use butter and full fat milk (and feel better on it!) it has taken me 6 years to get from 500 calories to 1500 calories so will be a while longer before I am at 2000 (and by then I hope to need fewer calories in any case :rotfl:)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Do people usually report the change from last week or the change since the start of the challenge? I am -0.5kg for this week, which puts me at -1.5kg overall. Very happy with that. And very surprised.
OH has been away this week so I haven't been as active as usual in his absence (really struggling to get over 7k steps - nowhere near my 10k aim!). Also treated myself to McDs on Wednesday because I wasn't going to be anywhere near home until late. Then called in to my brothers yesterday and my mum treated us all to fish&chips which wasn't on the plan.
Just goes to show the difference that the "odd" biscuit and cake that OH brings for me, if I can manage 2 takeaway dinners and still lose. When I lived alone I didn't have a sweet tooth so it looks like that has been my problem all along. Just have to learn not to sample the home-baking that I do for OH (in the interests of being MSE!)0 -
I have had some slip ups but am really happy to report a 7lb loss! :j

Ok you might have already thought of these, but a few more ideas just in case- Can you add grated cheese to top your chilli or any pasta dishes etc?
- Few spoons of double cream in your porridge/mashed potato?
- Lovely rich soup like pumpkin made with cream and lots of cheese? (I have a Hugh F-W recipie that involves a pint of cream and a POUND of gruyere! Always wanted to try it and not been able to bring myself to :rotfl:) Have with bread and butter.
- Eat a few cubes cheese (2oz or so) and handful of almonds for a snack that's not too filling but pretty calorific?
I think you're doing really well, keep at it and I'm sure you'll get there in the end. You've done amazingly to adjust your habits so farLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 - Can you add grated cheese to top your chilli or any pasta dishes etc?

Im really struggling today. I have just put myself to bed for an afternoon nap in order to avoid snacking (I do generally have to have a sleep in the afternoon as Im often awake with pain in the night).
Honestly why is it some days your mind doed not even turn to to the thought of food and other days it is gnawing away at you and you just cant beat it:huh:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Some good ideas for me there (apart from the almonds, that would get rid of my weight problems ..... and life signs :eek::eek::eek::eek: fatally allergic to peanuts and treenuts)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
