thank you for the warm welcome
I have just fininshed the last of my night shifts for a while so be glad to be back in the the land of the living ...its not good for the metabolism ( thats one of my excuses)
OMG i weighed portion size what i normally shoved in my cereal bowl compared to what a 30g portion looks like ...quite a difference
so shall be keeping an eye on that , i also weighed what a portion of tortilla chips looked like and 25g is TINY...so i wont be snacking on those
today i have had
B rice crispies
L pea soup and ham sandwhich
D lamb tikka with rice
S had 3 tortilla chips will have an orange later and will shop for sald bowl to put in fridge for munchies
exercise i was out for 1hr with dog and incorporated day 2 of weeek 1 of couch 2 5k
not a bad start
Daisydaydream i see you are doing the 5k thing too, as well as putting it on my ipod i downloaded an app (free) on my phone , it hasnt anymusic but will beep or vibrate at the right point so you know when to run / walk, it may be of use to you

Thanks Vixtress and Skint for the breakfast ideas, I'll look into them, only I'm such a fuss, I don't like eggs or tomatoes on their own. I'll try the milk alternatives though, I don't drink milk so it never occurs to me to use alternatives!
My day was ok, slept in and then had a hospital appt this afternoon (not the stomach), so between them I haven't been a star today:
B: toast with LF cream cheese eaten on the run
L: wrap with LF cream cheese, ham and salad + a pearPizza (I deserved it after the tests!)
S: 2 apples
Didn't make it to the gym as the hospital was running quite behind and I have some extra work to do this evening. I WILL go tomorrow!0 -
Morning all!
Not a bad day yesterday but I did succumb to a Thorntons bar of Cappuchino chocolate - 188 cals and counted in the allowance so no problems.
Its swimming day again today and I'm hoping to get to the half way point of my summer holidays swimming challenge - 300 lengths of 600. Will go early to avoid the screaming kids.
I've also plotted a new walk on a walking/running website for me and the dog - just 3 miles so about an hour or so.
Not sure about food yet today - will pop back later with a food update.
Right, better get the first dog walk done - just 20mins for doggy ablutions!0 -

Meals today:

Snacks: kiwi, mr kipling cake bar
Dinner: not sure yet, but I really fancy macaroni cheese for some reason, so maybe that.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

Jammy Dodger has the beeping running app got a name, that would be so much better than my stopwatch and one less thing to carry with the dog lead etc. Will investigate later.
Plan for today
B:all bran and fruit
L: l/o pasta and salad, strawberriessardine hash type thing (I fry (using frylight) any bits of left over veg with onion, add l/o potato and then mash in tin of sardines in tomato sauce and lge squeeze of sweet chilli sauce) It looks disgusting but tastes fab.
S: fruit, yoghurt, ? nature valley bar
Ex: dog walking, 2nd run/walk (wk 1), mountain of ironing (will promise to hold my abs in and do some squats)
Hope everyone has a good day, only 24 hours to weigh in.

Yesterday went wrong, had an awful day with the kids so to save my sanity SIL took us out for dinner and convinced me to have carbs (I was going for salad) and a dessert. Weighed 11,10 again today so it wasn't good! I think this week will be a gain.
Need to get back to meal planning, it's so hard in the holidays to stick to low carb as I am feeding three kids for lunch instead of just me and DD and I don't have time to cook dinner ahead like I often do.
Breakfast today was 2 slices of bacon and fried egg, with a little bbq sauce.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Yesterday went a bit Pete Tong in the eveningI allowed myself to get too hungry hen ate half the world and washed it down with half a bottle of Shiraz
:o. Well, maybe that's a slight exaggeration (the Shiraz isn't) but I ate far too many tortilla chips with my super healthy veg/lentil chilli and I picked at some of the kids left overs. So not great
Ah, well. Today is a new day.
Started off with porridge made with water, a slash of ss, blueberries and a spoonful of maple syrup.
Lunch will be left over veggie/ salmony hash up thingy
Not sure about dinner but I have salad that really needs eating.
I am going to go do 20 mins on the power plate one. No excuses!!!!
Have a great day

hi Daisydaydream its called simpleC25K, a free app, will beep or vibrate at the right spot over your own music too, as some of the well intentioned c25k podcasts can be a bit on the "trendy" side for my musical tastes:D
Off she runs along to a bit of "sweet Caroline !;)
