Just checking in with you all tonight.

I have been doing really well with my portion sizes and food choices over the last few days. I'm still eating the odd biscuit but the major downfall is I bought the children a tub of ice-cream. I'm eating it too so it may show when I weigh in on Friday. Decided that i'll have no more now.

I'm planning on taking the dog to the park tomorrow so that should be a good walk for an hour and determined not to drive on the school run at all this week.
  • Oh dear, I'm not sure what I've lost because my scales have lost two of their stabilising feet, and depending on how I stand on them it could be one pound or four pounds!

I have emailed Salters today to see if I can get replacement feet, and if not I will either have to buy new scales :( or try to find somewhere locally where I can weigh myself each week :(

The belt of my jeans is one notch tighter, however!

Well done to everybody who's lost so much already! :T

I use miso as a base for GF gravy (you can get different sorts of miso, so find one you like), made up quite strong, boil chopped onion in it and use a stick blender to liquidise it. You can add a bit of mushroom ketchup or balsamic vinegar to it as well.

Sometimes I thicken it a bit with potato. You can experiment with all sorts of things!

    Yummy!

  • just a quick hello :hello: hope everyone's doing ok.

Had quite a good day today. I had to go into work today to see occ health about returning to work. Decided to call in and reactivate my gym membership that has been susspended whilst I've been off. Went for a swim while I was there. Managed to do 25mins non stop which I'm pretty chuffed about. I haven't really been able to do much excercise since I started being ill back at the beginning of october so it's nice to be getting back into things.

Have just got back from a meal out with some friends. I was a bit worried about it as I sometime find going for indian can be quite fatty. Went for a grilled starter rather that anything in batter or deep fried. Had veggies in a non cream sauce for my main with boiled rice... managed to resist the temptation to pinch some of DH's naan bread!! (Did have a beer though ). Just finished recording it all on MFP and really chuffed that I'm still 200cals under for the day :D

Occ Health want me to start being more active during the day to help me get geared up for going back into work. If the weather's fine tomorrow thinking might try and get out for a good walk and perhaps a little picnic (or perhaps a flask of sharonr's lentil soup.. yum yum!)

    My day today goes:

B - porridge with brown sugar
S - portion pack of mixed dried fruit
L - veg soup; chunk of wholemeal bread; slice of HM bacon and cheese quiche
    S - bunch of grapes
D - HM meatloaf with some veg and chickpea casserole LO from Monday

Exercise - a decent walk at lunchtime, to make up for the fact I didn't get out at all yesterday (by the time I felt well enough I couldn't be bothered :o)

    Have a good day, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Morning all :)
tink1981, well done on the swimming. Hope you'll be fit for work soon :)

We had a lovely meal out last night, and I'd done 45 minutes of swimming beforehand, so hoping that I managed to even it out. I only had 1 small glass of wine as I was driving, lots of veg with main course and only half my dessert.

    Today's meals:
    Breakfast: fruit corner
Lunch: houmous and salad sandwich, apple, satsumas, babybel
Dinner: chicken fajitas (3 RF wraps, 1.5 chicken thighs, 1 pepper, 1oz LF cheese and FF yoghurt)

Exercise: pilates tonight, and I'm going out for a run at lunchtime for the first time since my back flared up in September 2010! I'm going with a friend that I used to run with, he broke his toe Christmas 2010 and hasn't been since! We'll probably do a very slow 2 miles, I'll need to build back up to my previous distances (3-5 miles 2-3 times a week). My goal is to run the 5 mile race at my work in June, and beat my 2010 time (69 minutes 12 seconds). Ideally I'd like to get under the hour mark, so I'll need to knock at least 2 minutes off per mile.

yesterday was ok, still picking a bit too much, especially around 4pm.
    the plan for today is:
    usual 2 x seedy toast
quinoa with lots of crunchy veg and a bit of feta, apple
dinner willl be 2 x poached eggs, oven chips and peas :):)
planned snacks are 2 x ryvitas with a scrape of hm jam and a couple of slices of home cooked ham

how does this sound to people? ive got a stone to loose and if i don't see some loss this week i think i may start to get a bit miffed!!

    have a good day x
