  • Hello all,

Lovely to see so many newcomers getting healthy and fit this year :j, welcome to you all.

Not a bad weekend considering the previous 2 :rotfl:

Won't list all the food for weekend but today's food has been as follows:

B - Skinny latte and small bunch of grapes
    S - 2 clementines
L - Quorn ham and very slight bit of cheese sandwich
    S - banana, pear
D - mmm, unsure yet. Maybe 2 Quorn sausages and peas
S - either (and i will choose EITHER!) a club bar or 100 cal frozen yogurt

Exercise - usual 1 hour walk to work and back. Am going to do either a) core workout b) 30 min shred c) try and go for a run?

Wish me luck re the run, haven't run since school lol :rotfl:

    hi

Can I join in the fun?! Weighed myself on the Wii last week and I'd lost 6lbs since I was last on so I've decided to do something about the other 5 stone!!!

I've been spurred on by the free SW books in my Mum's newspaper and although I don't want to join a club there are some nice recipes & menu ideas. All suited to OS!

So as they say on Mastermind (did you see Martin :j) I've started so I'll finish!

    B porridge

L Ham salad, 0% fat yoghurt, grapes

D Not sure but something with eggs, maybe omelette.

Plus a banana & maybe more grapes to use them up as they're on the turn

Not much time to exercise today but may try and get on the Wii Fit most mornings.

Going to start swimming again next week. Our local pool has been closed but will hopefully reopen soon.

Main challenge this week is to cut down on cheese - haven't dared check how calorific it is but I know its bad

    Have a good week everyone.
Cheddar cheese is about 115 calories/ounce. The only problem with that is that an ounce of cheese is quite a small amount.
I eat quite a bit of cheese [being vegetarian], I have found a nice LF mature cheddar in Tesco's, also I like feta light and haloumi light.

Hi. I am hoping to join your thread but my lack of IT knowledge is holding me back..! How do you enter your weight losses? How do you all show figures like challenge totals at the bottom of your threads? They seem to come after the main body of your messages and I don't know how to do it. Please be gentle with me!!
    Thanks

Hi Klug, the part at the bottom of a post is called a signature. To add one go to User CP in the green bar at the top of the page, then edit signature, from the menu bar at the left of the screen. You can add up to 6 lines of text.

  • Another question (sorry). We love chicken fajitas but always just buy the packets I was just wondering if any of you had a make at home spice mix I could steal? I always think we're paying a fortune for wraps spice mix and salsa. Also was thinking I could give yoghurt ago in them instead of the mayo I usually have as it would be healthier. What do you think?

There's a recipe for fajita spice mix in Nigella Kitchen, I'll type it up later if I remember. We buy the spice mix packets and separate wraps (Tescos own ;) ), rather than the whole meal kit though, they're much cheaper.
I always use FF fromage frais or RF creme fraiche in fajitas, in place of the sour cream, and 1 oz rf cheese each for 3 wraps. Use a good non-stick frying pan and you don't need much oil either.

You've just inspired me to make fajitas for tea, we haven't had them for ages. Total for 3 wraps the way I make them is 680 calories.

    B. Porridge made with water and a pear

    L. 2 small slices GF toast and sardines, 1 apple

    D. Will be curry made with left over beef from yesterday, shredded cabbage instead of rice and left over apple crumble with a couple of spoons of yogurt to finish

    S. This is where it gets bad.....4 treat sized crunchies!!!!! and its only 4pm. How am I going to get through this evening??:(

    Measure Up!

Just wanted to remind everyone (and myself!) that measurements can be as important, and motivating, as weight. Take your measurements now, then maybe halfway through and at the end and you will see how many inches/cm have dropped off. I think I will measure in cm, more numbers to go down!

The main ones are waist, thighs and upper arm, but you can also measure your bust, chest, hips and calves.
    Great idea Ragz.
I will put my starting [on May 23rd] measurements in brackets. Sorry they are in inches [have never really got metric measurements]
    I am 5' 3''.
    Bust -40 '' [was 48'']
    Waist -34'' [was45'']
    hips - 40'' [was 47'']
    thigh -20''
    calf -14''
    upper arm-11''.
I am very proud of my achievements so far. Obviously I still have a few more inches to go [especially my waist, for health reasons], and seeing it written down really brings home how much I have lost.
