Trinity_enigma - welcome to the thread. If you want to join the challenge, let me know (it's not compulsory!) How about dry cereal, like a few handfuls of crunchy nut cornflakes/country crisp/mini weetabix? Or crackers with a little cheese/cheese spread?June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Have put on about 3 stone since meeting my oh about 3 years ago - the perils of happiness eh? We have been engaged for nearly a year ad need to start planning the wedding but am dreading dress shopping at this size- my dads gf also nicely told me that I nee to lose weight for the wedding as well (she's lovely! Ha)
Today I've eaten a pork sandwich with hm apple sauce and stuffing which was left over from last nights dinner ad a packet of crisps (didn't have anything else to bulk out my lunch and need to be eaten)
I don't eat breakfast- I hate eating straight after getting up and don't want to get up earlier. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could take to work and eat at my desk first thing- something 'dry' preferably.
I have a sandwich for breakfast (can't eat for a couple of hours after I get up ) and then soup for lunch - is that possible for you?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Trinity, I have cereal bars for breakfast. Oatabix bars are 80 cal each and in homebargins for 5 for £1 or less. I normally don't eat until I'm in work.
Some ceral bars are alot more, eleveanses are abt 200 cal.
Or fruit like banana, satsumas or rasins and some nuts?
there is those new breakfast bisuits too, don't know what they are like.
Since its OS weight loss, you could make flapjacks?0 -

I'm not a big breakfast eater either, find it hard to eat when I first wake up. I always eat breakfast as soon as I get to my desk while I'm waiting for my PC to boot up etc. I normally have a yoghurt (muller fruit or breakfast corner is my fave, or a Rachel's organic yoghurt with a small handful of granola type cereal to sprinkle in). Because it's my whole breakfast (and also because I hate the taste of sweeteners) I only buy full fat yoghurts. Other option for me is a nature valley granola bar (love the ginger flavoured one).Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Measure Up!
Just wanted to remind everyone (and myself!) that measurements can be as important, and motivating, as weight. Take your measurements now, then maybe halfway through and at the end and you will see how many inches/cm have dropped off. I think I will measure in cm, more numbers to go down!
The main ones are waist, thighs and upper arm, but you can also measure your bust, chest, hips and calves.
Mine are -
Upper arm - 31cm (measured just under shoulder)
Bust - 100cm (don't really want that shrinking!)
Chest - 85cm
Waist - 99cm (over belly button and fully relaxed, 85cm at narrowest point)
Hips - 107cm (widest point, over jeans)
Thighs - 62cm (highest point, over jeans)
Calf - 36cm (widest point)June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Thanks for the suggestions. I really have a thing against yoghurt not sure why. Will maybe try the breakfast bars once I've had a chance to go shopping but am liking the idea of a sandwich this week maybe- its not too unhealthy if I have a bacon sandwich if I cook it on the gorge foreman is it? I just hear its not very healthy to skip breakfast unfortunately!
Thought I would share my most recent find with you. My weakness is pizza but am trying to avoid too much dough iyswim (bread for b,l&d can't be good for you) so we decided to make our own calzone using tortilla. This week we will have hm meatballs and hm tomato sauce with pasta for dinner and will put some sauce and meatballs in a tortilla with a little cheese fold it over and bake for 15 mins (meatballs already cooked) and have cold for lunch the next day. Has to be healthier than actual pizza, especially if bought?0 -

You might like to try the river cottage museli... he makes it the traditional swiss way which is to have it with fruit rather than milk.
I make up a batch of my own museli in a jar. It's usually a kilner jar with 2/3 oats and then topped up with dried fruit, nuts and seeds. Weigh out a 50g portion the night before and add 1 grated apple and the juice of and orange (or about 50ml from a carton if you can't be bothered to faff with oranges.) Mix it all up and leave to soak over night. It's great to just chuck in bag and eat on the train or at desk when get into work. Healthy, filling and counts towards your 5 a day :A

Afternoon everyone. Finally weighed myself last night. I'm 13 stone 12 - not good, but 2lb lighter than I thought:)
So far today I've had a bacon roll at 11am, a glass of fruit juice (to make a start on 5 a day) and several mugs of coffee with SS milk. Think I'll do a salad mid-afternoon and soup for dinner. Main challenge this week is to cut down on cheese - haven't dared check how calorific it is but I know its bad
Have a good week everyone.0 -

Forgot to add that I would like to join the challenge please and would like to aim towards losing a stone before Easter but not sure if that's aiming to high. Am going to get my 10 workout DVDs out tonight. Bought them about six months ago and have used them prob about three times each- I think they deserve more attention!0
