Been walking to work and healthy eating
Hope everyone continues to keep up the good work !!0 -
What's everyone else's exercise goals? What do you currently do and what would you like to take up?
I'm planning to to try and do the couch to 5k this year and hopefully build up to being able to do our local 10 in december. We get reduced membership at the gym at work and I'm aiming to try and get there at lunchtimes 3 days a week. I don't really get away from my desk and take a proper break at the moment to thought that it would be good for me mentally as well as physically to go do something. Even if it's just half an our one the treadmill or in the poolI'm planning to do the Dales Way with my Mum in June so really need to up my fitness for that too!!
Have had a busy day in the garden today so hopefully will have burnt off a few calories... good job really my friends little girl made us some almond cookies for a christmas present that she brought round this afternoon. They were really scrummy and I accidentially pollished off 5 of them with my brew whilst I was warming up when I got in
Can recommend sharonr's lentil soup... made it earlier and it really hit the spot and according to MFP is only 152 kcals for a really big bowl of it (we worked the recipe out as 3 big servings).
hope everyone has had a good weekend

A flatter belly! When I started I couldn't bend to put sox on, cut my toe nails, it was all I could do to put my trousers on. Now I can (just) see my toes. Sensible eating has reduced my weight enough to allow me to increase my exercise, together they've helped my breathing no end. I'll never be able to run 5 miles but I can now walk round the supermarket without having to stop every few steps pretending to look at the shelves. That's okay for now, but I'm looking forward to seeing how much more I can achieve when I reach my final goal
Night night, have a good Monday0 -
Morning everyone. Can I join pleace? I'd like to lose 1stone 5 lbs by half term in February. At the same time however I need to empty my freezer and feed my children! Am going to do this by exercising and by eating less. I have already bought a smaller sized plate and will be using the local sunday market to buy fruit and veggies to help. First day of school today, so first day of my new life!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning all
today's meals:
Breakfast: fruit corner
Lunch: RF cheese, cucumber and mango chutney sandwich, apple, satsumas
Dinner: undecided, running late this morning!
exercise: HBT class if I can get a place, or gym.
I've just booked to go to a friend's hen night at the end of March, so I'm going to set myself a mini-target of needing to buy a new outfit in the next size down to wear to it! I'm currently an 18/16 depending on the shop, but I think if I'm close to my NY challenge target by then I'll be a 16/14
Exercise - my goal is to do something 5 times a week. I have a fixed pilates class on a Wednesday, and gym membership which covers classes, swimming and gym. I was really good about going until I had a cold in December and I haven't managed to restart properly. This is the week though, I'm determined! :jLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Morning all, hope everyone is well.
Yesterday I had
B – hm yoghurt, l/o tinned peaches.
L - Thinly sliced ham & salad, clementine.
D – SC chicken, parsnips, carrots & brussels sprouts.
Snacks = 1 Orange, 1 x 2inch square of hm Millionaires shortbread.
2 glasses white wine - oops
Didnt do any exercise yesterday but have a busy planned today, I have decided to do an early 'spring clean' and prepare for redecorating a couple of rooms. I have consulted some Feng Shui books for inspiration and try to make sure I pick the most auspicious colours for the areas to be done.
Have a good dayJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Morning all.
Can I come back and join in, please? My weight's been creeping up since I left the thread last autumn but has seriously rocketed recently - I've put on 2.5kg (nearly 6lbs ) in the past two weeks alone.:eek: My (admittedly half-hearted) attempts at keeping an eye on things haven't worked, so it looks like I need to go back to doing things properly.I want to lose at least 1kg by the end of January, and 1.5kg would be even better.
Today goes:
B - porridge made with half SS milk and half water, with sliced banana and no sugar
S - apple
L - pate and cucumber sandwich on wholemeal bread, with a mug of veg soup (note to self - must buy cucumber and soup at lunchtime)
S - bunch of grapes
D - tomato and chickpea cobbler (I'll make enough dough for a single cobble rather than making two portion with the intention of freezing half as I usually do - I never do freeze half and always end up eating the additional cobble)
Exercise - a brisk walk to the shops at lunchtime - if I go the long way round it's about 20 minutes there and 10 minutes back, which isn't great but better than nothing, which is what I've mostly been doing recently.:o:o
I look forward to getting to know everyone who's joined the thread since I left, and catching up with those I know already.Back after a very long break!0 -
Cornflour also makes a lovely white sauce. I use 30g to 1 pint of semi / skimmed milk, season and yummy!
Im feeling a little brighter this morning. I wonder why I always retain water around this time? I guess it is the hormones etc but yesterday my rings were tight and ankles puffy.
Im off this week to a retreat. The food is yummy as I have been before but there is lots of opportunities for graded activity and exercise so hopefully I can participate. Hopefully the extra activity will offset the yummy food.
I will take my dongle as there is no TV there. I know I should foresake it for a few days but I still need to know what is happening.
Hugs and keep on going with the healthy eating and activity xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
