    Afternoon All

B: Poached egg on toast (x2)
L: Smoked salmon pate on slice of HM granary bread with cherry tomatoes.
D: Roast chicken, Yorkshire pudding, HM stuffing, spinach creamed with garlic, onions and mushrooms, cabbage and peas.
Treats: 7 toffees over the day.

Exercise: About 5.5K run. It was meant to be 7K but my friend got really bad cramp and had to stop before we'd finished. We walked a couple of miles too though as the round trip with walking and running is about 6.5 miles.

    Afternoon everyone,

I have done absolutely no excercise this weekend apart from walking round the shops on Saturday morning! Just haven't felt like it!

Anyway, here is my food for today

    B. GF cereal with rice milk and some melon and blueberries thrown in.
    D. (Main meal at lunch time today) 3oz roast beef, cauliflower, carrots, 2 parsnips, half a roast potato. No gravy as I have yet to make a decent GF gravy
    T. (tea) will be Salad, and 4 GF crackers and 1 slice of cheese, 1 apple
Snacks (so far today) 2 treat size crunchies, 2 honey rice crackers, a hm bowl of apple crumble, and I am really fancying some crisps at the moment! Arrrrgh, Sunday is always my worst day for eating. I am thinking of going to bed early so I don't raid the larder later!!!

    Aim to lose 10lbs:)
  • Evening all

    Today’s food

B: branflakes with banana, sultanas and skimmed milk
L: Beans on wholemeal toast, no butter
D: very thin slices of cheese on wholemeal toast (still using Christmas cheese up!), apple slices
Snacks: ½ pint of SS milk for teas, 4 matchmakers, grapes, apple, a few nuts

We didn’t bother with a Sunday dinner today, we will be having a roast dinner tomorrow and possibly Tuesday. I have spent the day cleaning the house from top to bottom and doing all the laundry etc. This is to free up some time after work everyday so I can concentrate on cooking more healthy meals and do some exercise.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Back to work tomorrow for me :(

    hi Mazzy,
I use cornflour to thicken my gravy - 1 heaped desert spoon in half a mug of water, add a little of the warm pan juices to the mug then mix the whole lot back into the roasting tray and stir at the boil until the gravy is thickened and clear again. I prefer it to regular flour personally, as the gravy clears and you don't have to cook it so long to avoid the flavour of raw flour.
    Hope that helps!

Welcome Spotdogkez. The last stone is always the hardest. I lost 2.5 stone last year, got about 10lbs to lose (maybe more, we'll see when I get there) but it's definitely taking more time to get rid of. Worse thing is people around you saying 'but you're not fat, you don't need to diet'... they don't see me naked :o I know where the wobbly bits are I've just learned to dress to hide them!

I think exercise will be the key for me and I want to get back into running. I did Couch to 5k last year (NHS one, it's really good and their forum is fab for support) and it really helped with my weight loss. But I kind of stopped after my 5k run. My biggest excuse was lack of light as it got to winter, I don't have the chance to run except when kids are in bed or if I persuade DH to get up early at the weekend to watch the kids. DD should start preschool a day a week next month when she's 2, so I hope to get a run in then. I swim an hour twice a week and intend to do my Wii Fitness coach thing but somehow didn't manage once last week. I'd love to do the gym but no time at the moment, it's where the pool is which is 30 minute drive from here and I'd only be able to manage once or twice a week which I'm not sure the cost will justify. May look into it though as could possibly squeeze a session in before one of my swims...

What's everyone else's exercise goals? What do you currently do and what would you like to take up?

  • Back to report that I've not yet been able to get on this blerdy wagon! I think I may have to not bother about calories for the moment but concentrate on trying to break some very bad habits first. Will go out tomorrow and stock up on fruit and no other goodies. I've got to break the snacking on carp habit or I won't be able to stick to any sort of calorie counting even if I can have 1570 calories :) Anyway, I'm sure I'll have some sort of progress to report tomorrow.

Well done to all you losers so far x
