So after the suggestions on here, last night I decided to check out the shred on youtube. Did level 1. Felt pretty good afterwards - it was tough but not unpleasantly so, so I figured it was probably pitched about right for my fitness. Even had the energy to go for a couple-of-mile walk with OH after dinner because I was well below my 10,000 steps and loading the DW wasn't going to cut it.

This morning I can hardly move  My calf muscles have tightened up so much that I'm walking like a duck :rotfl:

Still, plan to do it all again tonight. And I've ordered the DVD because youtube and my little netbook aren't a great combo. I think it might be the thing I've been looking for to make the difference :D

As for food... completely lost track over the weekend again and meal plan has gone a bit wobbly too this week. So far today:
B - two slices of HM fruit bread with marg
L - small wholemeal sandwich w. LO chicken and mayo, yoghurt, apple.
S - packet of crisps... unless they end up part of lunch
    D - ???????????????????????????????????
  • Hello, have been a lurker on the forum for the past 2 years and never posted.
I need to lose some weight and get fitter and need to keep the motivaion going past the first week. Have lost count of the number of times I've lost and put back on over the past few years!!!
Have read this forum loads of times and you are all such an encouraging group of people and I would love to join you on your weight loss journey.:)
I weighed myself on Saturday and I'm 12st 12 1/2lbs, my heaviest ever, would love to be between 101/2 and 11 stone (I'm 5ft 7, so that would give me a BMI of 23-24 I think).
So my big goal is 30lb, but I'm planning to aim for 5lb a month so I can start 2013 lighter and fitter. Is that doable do you think??

Going back now to reread your posts and pick up more hints and tips, have found a little book to write them all in, along with my daily food and exercise.

Even though it’s miserable and wet again I’m in a better mood today and have been much more productive. Also managed to pick up some nice new Knicks that were half price in Sainsbobs – at last I can throw out the large Bridget Jones style ones that are now getting a bit baggy :rotfl: – nothing like some new Knicks to cheer a gal up :j - Simple Pleasures.

Food-wise I have to “fess-up” I missed breakfast due to having to be out early and ended up snacking mid-morning on 2 pkts of Qu@vers (88cals per pkt) :o hopefully managed to even it out with the extra walking and energetic housework I’ve done since.

So meals today, not very exiting freezer supplies and L/O’s
    L – Tomato & Courgette Soup, Toast.
    D – L/O Pork with Vietnamese Slaw.

Afternoon everyone and welcome msnmanx and DaisyDayDream :)

I'm trying to think of healthy lunch ideas and drawing a blank. I am sick of salad! Don't have easy access to a microwave at work so soup etc is out. I think I need to stop just eating fruit for lunch because it probably makes me end up eating more in the evening. Even if it is easier...

    Today's food
    Breakfast - cereal with strawberries
Snack - raw veg (red pepper, cucumber, sugarsnap peas)
Lunch - salad (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, spring onion, no dressing) with 130 cals worth of smoked salmon
    Snack - soya yogurt

Dinner will be seafood pasta, a recipe that reckons it's 479 cals. Will probably have some fruit after dinner.

Still hungry today but have controlled it.

    Food so far...
Breakfast - cereal bar (120 cals)
Mid morning - packet of Oddities (130 cals)
Lunch - wholemeal pitta bread (150 cals), spinach and quorn (50 ish cals), satsuma (25 cals), grapes (100 cals).
Snack - rice cake (35 cals)
Tea - M&S butternut squash lasagne (440 cals), salad (50 ish cals)

    So total so far....1100 cals
Room for an evening snack later.

Will do the Shred later (seems ages since the last time) and maybe a 10 Min Solutions abs session.

Only managed a 20 minute stroll yesterday rather than power walk, and I havent managed any exercise so far today as feet and knees swollen :(. I think the shred is beyond me at the moment. ;) Ive been looking at a local Iyengar yoga class and sent off for more information, it seems to be based on posture and breathing so might help to loosen me up a bit so I can do more aerobic exercise. Need to drink more water too.

    B - weetbics and banana
    s - 2 satsumas
L - small portion leftover lasagne and salad. W/wat carrot cake
    s - lowf yoghurt
    s - apple
D - pork, broccolli and mushroom pasta with garlic and herb sauce.

Will try to resist garlic bread :D

Exercise. - trying to motivate myself to go for a walk

    Evening all :)
Bit hectic today, but managed to fit in pub lunch with DH after we went for a tour of the nursery at work. So weird to think that this time next year we'll be starting our 9 month old there!

    Breakfast: yoghurt & nectarine
Lunch: jacket potato with chilli and cheese. Biggest jacket I've ever seen, still stuffed now
Dinner: maybe a sandwich if I get hungry later, or fruit and an ice lolly

    Evening All

It's been raining nearly all day today - it's so miserable. I've had a lazy day and stayed in bed half the morning with a book. DH took me out at lunchtime and I succumbed to egg and chips but gave him 3/4 of the chips. I then had a nap on the sofa this afternoon. I've no idea why I feel so tired.

B: Greek yoghurt with HM lemon sauce.
L: Double egg and chips (about 10 chips at most)
D: Grilled goats cheese with red pepper balsamic dressing, HG salad leaves, tomato, pine nuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Piel de sapo melon.
Snack: 1/2 small bar of dark chocolate

    5619910.jpg

    Exercise: None at all

Thanks for the link to the low carb site RAGZ - it looks great and I've already decided to try Pan fried chicken with balsamic cream sauce.

Well done on the new figure Welsh Woofer - it's great when the exercise starts paying dividends.

I do Pilates, which has been great for keeping my back flexible after a problem last year. I really notice it when I miss a week, so I know it's still having an effect!
