    Good afternoon all :)

Congrats to all those with a weight loss this week:j

I am in the sts camp today. Did no exercise this week at all, no reason though, I just felt too tired to be bothered :(

I really need to get in a better state of mind for next week!

Well done all losers and anyone who has managed to STS. I am not surprised to report a 1lb GAIN and to be honest the way I have eaten it should be more! I have not managed to get back to to the wagon at all (let alone climb on it), despite promising to earlier in the week. I have been tired and grumpy so missed swimming last night and only managed half an hour on monday and I have driven to the school twice when I could have walked.

After the non stop eating with the cold I had at the beginning of the week, the last few days, every time I eat a meal I feel really bloated and uncomfortable, hasn't stopped me though. I ate rather a lot of HM pizza yesterday and far too much bread and butter pud tonight. I didn't even enjoy this week's eating, I have just been poorly/grumpy/tired/sulky.

    Bah!

Monnagran - Could you swim? Plenty of older ladies seem to enjoy that, it's very supporting exercise so less likely to hurt yourself. If not, there are plenty of chair based exercises you can do (or invest in a Wii and Wii fit or similar) and simple stretches you can practise at home. You could lift weights (bean cans or water bottles), just 10-15 at a time on each arm, in different ways. Some ideas on this website http://helpguide.org/life/senior_fitness_sports.htm
just remember to stop immediately if anything hurts!

Daska - that IS an impressive loss, but you are right to be concerned. Remember that if you are having trouble eating, drinks can provide calories as well as fluids. Milk based drinks like horlicks, ovaltine etc are good for you and have added vitamins and minerals which will help with healing. Red wine is very good for you (one glass a day though!). Bovril and the like can be nourishing too. Milkshake, especially with added oats (my favourite is banana, oats, milk, yogurt and honey) can be a meal in itself. You could make banana and peanut butter milkshake?!

Looks like I have not been alone this week with the lack of energy and motivation. Hopefully those of us struggling will pick it up a bit soon!

    Evening All

I am still not having a weigh in as I know it will be more than it should be. I shall have an official weigh in at the end of the challenge instead. We have a wedding to go to at the beginning of April too so I should have plenty of incentive!

    B: Poached egg on toast
L: HM butternut squash soup. Small piece of ham that needed eating up.Several cherry tomatoes. HM scone and butter
D: Poached salmon with mashed swede and spinach cooked with mushrooms, onions and garlic. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.

Exercise: 1 hour Stability ball class. 25 minutes swimming (got there too late to do more).1.5 miles of walking.

    Hi all,

Thanks for the welcome and advice JBD. I have swapped my bread from white to 50/50. I can't really get out of my white rolls on Friday nights.....my wonderful in-laws go shopping on Fridays and ALWAYS bring us rolls that are on offer in Greggs - I haven't got the heart to ask them to change them when they pick them up out of the goodness of their hearts!

I've joined myfitnesspal - oh my goodness! There are calories in EVERYTHING!!!!! :rotfl:I need to shift about 9lbs - its keeping it off thats the hard bit hence me wanting to make it a lifelong lifestyle change! DH and the Lab nearly passed out when I suggested that I took him for a walk tonight - I usually break out in hives at the thought of exercise :o

I've had a good day - did have a few mini-eggs and a small sausage roll to add to my list but have come in at my 1200 target anyway so happy enough!

Just made a mahoooosive pan of HM Veg soup to bag and freeze for lunches next week. Will make a pan of mixed bean soup tomorrow too so that I can have a bit of variety next week!

I'll post my plan for tomorrow.

    Lala :)

I have had a similar week with both a cold and totm; comfort eating loads of stuff I wouldn't ordinarily eat and doing no exercise, so wasn't even going to bother weighing myself.

But I have weighed today and it's not quite as bad as I feared. I will somewhat sheepishly declare STS although I have in fact gained 3/4. Not sure this weekend is going to be any better, my head is still stuffed up and my legs are achy. :(
