Morning everyone! Congrats to those who have already posted losses :T Keep going, those who have hit a plateau.
Ragz I have lost 2 pounds. :j As you can probably guess, I am over the moon about that. One more pound [hopefully next week] will take me to 4 stones loss.
My meal plans are -
B - banana, LF greek yoghurt, honey, nuts
L - wholemeal pitta, philadelpia extra light, salsa
D -lentil and veg curry
S's -yoghurt, fruit. Will also allow myself 1 small homemade brownie.
exercise - 1500 metres swimming . This is the last swim in my nearest pool which is closing for a year. From next week I will have to walk 4 [at a guess] miles to my next one, so I am thinking of getting a bike. A scary thought as I have never had a bike before so I'm not even sure if I can ride one!
Best of luck with the weigh ins!0 -
Lala1974 sorry, I have just read your post. Your menu plan looks good to me, although I would substitute wholemeal bread for white and also try to include a little more protein.
Well done on choosing a 'healthy eating' approach. I think it is important to improve your diet as much as possible rather than just counting points or calories.
I know a lot of people find www.myfitnesspal.com quite helpful [though I personally don't use it] as it helps you know how many calories and what nutrients you should be eating.
Best of luck!0 -

Morning ladies
I'm really struggling with tiredness atm, keep falling asleep on the sofa instead of getting dinner ready. Luckily DH is being a star and helping out more than normal round the house. Fingers crossed it becomes a habit over the next 8 monthsLast night we were going out for an appointment as soon as he got in, so by the time we got back it was late and we ended up getting takeaway pizza
Disappointed in myself, and really feeling the effects today, terrible water retention and my rings are really tight. Meh!
We're off to visit my brother, his fiance and my nephew for the weekend, so won't be on much, but will try and keep up with logging.
Today:
Breakfast: fruit corner, grapes
Lunch: cheese and pastrami sanwich, satsumas, maybe some wotsits if I go to the shop.
Dinner: unknown, will eat once we get to our hotel so will depend what's available
snacks: 0.5pt milk, 2 biscuits/a granola barLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
The TN continues, chewing is incredibly painful whichever side I do it on, so I've eaten hardly anything this week. And I'm declaring a rather concerning 7lb loss. A total of 15lb. I am concerned at the speed but I think it's largely to do with the pain. I'm trying to make sure I have things that require less chewing and swallowing, smooth nut butters etc to make sure there's some protein and some fat getting down there. On the plus side, apart from the TN which is gradually improving, I'm feeling great! (and even better, when I catch a taste of sugar laden things e.g. when I drink my carer's tea instead of mine, it tastes foul!)Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

D - pork fillet, green beans
T - small jacket, mushrooms, baked aubergine
Snacks - apple, 2 plums, pear

Morning all and well done those who are losing shed loads of weight. Wish I was one of you!
Not posted anything for a while as I've had a fraught and chaotic time and the last thing on my mind was what I was eating, hence I found that not only had I put on the measly one pound I had lost but three more had arrived to keep it company.
However, things have now calmed down and I have lost the 4 pounds I put on and and another one to encourage me. So I can post a 1 pound loss this week. PHEW!
Just another 5 pounds to go for my first half stone loss.
Carbs are my demons. but I am trying to cut them down. I have successfully kicked the sugar in my coffee habit and limited myself to 2 slices of bread a day. Just bought some wholemeal bread flour to make my own.
Exercise is a tricky one. I do quite a lot of walking as I rarely get the use of the car during the day, but at 70+ I refuse to go to the gym and bending and stretching is getting more difficult, I need to find some gentle way of keeping me supple. Ideas would be welcome.
Good luck everyone.I believe that friends are quiet angels
