    Evening All,

Well done The Goose. I've not eaten particularly well today as I've been craving sweet things all day and succumbed to sharing a big bar of chocolate with DH this evening.

B: Muesli with extra sultanas, full fat milk and a dash of double cream.
L: Ham and pickled onion roll with cherry tomatoes. Followed by one slice of toast with raspberry jam and butter. Then followed by a second!!
D: Grilled chicken thigh with skin removed, mashed butternut squash, grilled red and green peppers, mushrooms sauteed with onions and garlic.
Snacks: 1/2 large bar of Cadburys Bubbly

Exercise: 1.5 hours of Sports conditioning class - weights, cardio and abs. About 2 miles of walking.

    Morning all :)

I'm struggling a bit with increasing my calories to the level suggested by the doctor, got so used to trying to reduce them wherever possible in the last 6 months :o Don't really want to add to our our main meal too much, as DH still needs to lose weight, and struggle to eat breakfast anyway, so can't really add them there.

Have resorted to milk and biscuits when I get in from work, as I'm really hungry by then, but I'm not sure those are quality calories iyswim! Any suggestions for healthy but high-ish calorie snacks? About 2-300 calories would be good.

    Today:
Breakfast: fruit corner, dried apricots, grapes
Lunch: cheese sandwich, apple, satsumas, kiwi fruits
Dinner: undecided, we have to dash out as soon as DH gets in tonight as we're off to see a comedy show.
snacks: 2 hobnobs and 0.5pt milk

    Froglet due March 2016 :D

What about keeping a small bag of your favourite dried fruits & nuts to nibble on - things like raisins, cherries, cranberries, almonds, walnuts.

If I start nibbling during the day I find it very hard to stop! It's why I try not to have snacks normally :o Also not that keen on nuts, apart from honey roasted cashews :rotfl:, but I've got a dried fruit mix I sometimes have in my porridge though, so maybe I'll try that.

Little Moog - If I'm hungry in the evenings and have a few hundred calories left I often have hummus and crisps. I just buy basics reduced fat hummus and then I doctor it, usually add a little olive oil, some lemon juice and some paprika (or even better, make your own! Mine never tastes as good as the shop bought stuff though.)

  • Hello all

I thought I should join you as I have just started a weight loss programme via NHS. It's based on healthy eating and exercise - no fads. I'm in my second week now and have not eaten a single processed meal since I started - everything has been from scratch :j I feel so much better for it!

At first weigh-in, I lost 2kg (4.4lb). Second weigh-in is tomorrow and I'm hoping for another loss.

I have a lot of weight to lose (approx 7 stone), but I know it is now or never!

Anyway, today's menu is as follows:

Brekkie - 2 eggs, 2 rounds of wholemeal toast
    Snack - Banana
Dinner - Fruit cocktail & LF yoghurt
Tea (after Zumba class tonight) - HM Thai chicken, peppers, tomatoes, onions, jacket potato and pitta bread. LF yoghurt for dessert.

    :)

Depends on your age, sex, weight and activity level - these factors all determine how many calories we need :)
