LOL, it's not really a recipe. Just something I saw on another forum and adapted.
To make 1 burger -
2 heaped tablespoons of [uncooked ]red lentils. Cover the lentils with cold water and simmer for 15/20 minutes until soft and mushy. You need to get them as dry as possible.
Mash up and add 1 teaspoon of chunky peanut butter, salt and pepper, and either a pinch of dried mixed herbs or a pinch of whatever spice you like. [ I used cumin last time]. Just experiment !
Allow it to cool and get firmer and shape into a burger [or sausage shape if you wish]. If it is too sloppy then add a few wholemeal breadcrumbs. Fry in spray oil [they are easier to fry if you chill them 1st].
Serve with whatever you fancy!
Thanks JBD, I am trying to experiment more with pulses and reduce the amount of pasta and meat in my diet mostly because nowadays I feel so bloated after eating pasta and really wasn't brought up to eat meat every day. I have been using different lentils for Dhal, Shepherdless Pie and Moussaka I just thought a burger would be a nice change but was having difficulty finding a recipe, so will give it a go this week :T.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Unsurprised to report STS this week. Back has been bad, have been fairly good with food, but not very good. I should be happy with STS under the circumstances. Need to get back on the wagon.
Back feeling a little better at the moment, so will try and walk a bit more this week. I've also aquired a bike which needs a little TLC, so I can see how my back goes with that.0 -
Well I'm feeling loads better but it's still a struggle to eat so, whilst sticking generally with low carbing, I'm falling back on comfort food
b a spoon of peanut butter
l an avocado with some caesar dressing
s lots of peas and a minted lamb burger.
my trousers are falling down
but I don't have any that are smaller and my budget is currently -£30 for the next fortnight so:rotfl:
