Well my first diet goal was DH's birthday which is today. Wanted to lose 7lb and was determined to avoid sweets, cakes, alcohol etc. Have had some treats over the past few weeks including 3 glasses of wine, a few chocolate sins..... But since 11 lbs lost I have enjoyed an (almost) diet free day today.
B: 1 slice grilled cheese on toast. (rationed my cheese and only had one)
L: Fish fillet in batter. Mushy peas. 6 chips. Ketchup.Chicken Red Thai Curry (jar from Aldi). Rice. (only spray oil in wok)
S: grapes, banana. 2 bites of DS's sausage roll (willpower as it was 2 for Jason£1 and I saved the other one. Piece chocolate cake. Mini piece carrot cake. 2 bottles of Fosters Radler (2%) and felt the effects of alcohol. Clearly I am becoming a "lightweight" in more ways than one lol.
So anyway my way of looking at today is that b4 my diet I would have consumed even more calories..I would have punched that lovely sausage roll while it was warm. I would probably have got takeaaway this evening and drank more. Thanks to everyone for helping me find some willpower :A2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

I think you're right, I sometimes think it would be easier to say I don't drink at all, but why should I not have the one or two I fancy?
Some people are just judgemental, implying that their way of drinking is better, and you're a party pooper if you don't join in. I'm not bothered if others want to get drunk, but from past experiences in my life I know that I will never get involved with someone who gets drunk regularly, it's a real deal breaker for me now.
And of course the other annoyance is that if you don't drink on a night out (living rural means I often have to take the car) you're expected to drive all the drunk people home...what's that all about???
Ha ha - I know that one! I used to get lumped with looking after the legless friend of a friend whom I'd never met before, because it's not like I'm really partaking in the night out anyway
I think it's good if you put your foot down for one or two and no more. I started to realise, if you or I need to be legless to enjoy each others company, then we're not really very good friends in the first place... If you can stand each others company over a cup of tea though, you're onto a winner!
I watched secret eaters too. Couldn't believe the calories in the breakfast cereal last week! I don't know whether they're really in doubt over the gain, or whether they just don't want to admit it to their partners and then somehow come round to believing the lie?0 -
I have the utmost admiration for any of you on here who cook only for yourselves, it's really hard to make the effort sometimes.
sparrer, your menus always look so healthy
I like cooking which is an advantage ellie, but often I'm lazy and take the easy option of slicing up some bits of salad.
Certainly not so healthy this evening, I was having a cuppa with my lovely neighbour when she asked if I'd had dinner? No, not yet. Would I like to go halves for a Chinese? Yes! I never have one when I'm on my own so it was an opportunity not to be turned down. So my dinner was a bit more calorific than the intended egg salad0 -
Hello!! I like secret eaters and it winds me up at the same time! :rotfl: Could not watch it last night as I was out..
Shall we talk about bad food and unbalanced diet?
Yesterday I didnt go home after work as I needed to be somewhere closer to work. I brought enough food in order to have dinner there but all I had was the last cup cake left from my colleague's bday and 1 apple.
So it was:
B: Coffee +Porridge, honey, half SS milk/half water
L: 1 portion veggie curry on basmati rice + mixed saladCup cake and apple
E: NONE
MFP final result looked amazing but for all the wrong reasons!!!
Later!!0 -
I watch this aswell, I think its amazing that they claim not to remember what they've eaten
But really....how do you not know the energy drinks are pure sugar or that the museli you take to work in a tupperware tub turns into a full on fry up by the time you get there!
And dont get me started on the mashed potato, or was it butter & cream cheese with a bit of potato on the side :rotfl:
Oh Goddess yes! mind you I think they had thought they were putting less in and I guess the portions sizes crept up but they thought they were still having a small amount.
But the energy drinks and the museli got me as wellMust use my stash up!0 -
Hope you are feeling better knitwitch x
Can I ask how many weeks off we are having, are we starting the next challenge before Easter? I have some small Easter eggs hidden away, think this is the first year I've not had to replace them every week because we had the munchies!
I was saying to hubby watching secret eaters l don't understand how they forget eating so much food either, I could have happily tucked into to that roast dinner though minus the meat and cream cheeseIt still makes me giggle thinking at last week's guy putting cream on his special k
I'm on damage control mode today as its my dds birthday so meal out and chocolate cake laterI've walked the dogs to burn some calories off ready, but they were more in the mood to sniff than walk so not very helpful.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
It was the chocolate eclair that got me
She was leaning into the other room talking to her partner and holding the eclair out of sight in the kitchen...of course she knew she was eating it :rotfl:
Well done to them though, they turned things around by the end of the programme.

You don't get any weeks off *zippy* ...maybe just the weekend :rotfl:
Of course, you've been doing so well that you could take half the challenge off and still overtake us all :T
